RTI RTI Mora Received - Bad Regulator?

Hey guys, just posting my experience so far with my RTI Mora that I just received today. The only other experience I've had is an AV Avenge-X and a Notos.

First impressions is it's great, really solid, nice weight distribution, excellent case, superb/scary trigger. There's just a few issues I've run into right now, most notably the regulator. I've emptied it a few times now trying to lower the regulator pressure but it seems to be stuck on 140 bar no matter how much I've turned it in clock wise or counter-clockwise. It always fills back up to 140 bar. At least it's consistent but I want to shoot some pellets and I think it's throwing them too fast at this pressure. Some 33gr jsb slugs did pretty good though.

Also a couple side notes, there's no manual on their website nor did it come with one. There's also no cheekpiece, I've received an email from rtiarms.shop, the store I bought this from, that they'll send it out once they get enough to do a big shipping order for them. Hopefully that's soon as the bare metal on my chin is a little rough.

I didn't think to test but I guess I should've. I'll test tomorrow if the FPS changes with the turns. I'm going to guess the gauge is fine though, as when I've opened the drain plug it'll drop to 130 bar, close the plug it comes back up to 140. It'll also smoothly go up and down when emptying and filling the bottle.

Congratulations on your new Mora!

Your rifle actually has two regulators.

The adjustable one, if like other RTI adjustable regs, allows you to lower regulator pressure without degassing the rifle - BUT you must lower pressure very slowly - a small amount at a time - and after turning the allen key you must reset the plenum pressure by shooting a few shots after each small turn of the allen key. This many actually require 3 or 4 shots after each small adjustment as the plenum is HUGE on the Mora.

What caliber and model is yours? Post a picture. I’m a huge fan of RTI rifles - they are rifles for shooters, made and designed by shooters!!

It's the standard, 600mm version in .25 caliber.
So I am trying to adjust the regulator to change the plenum pressure. Just now I've just emptied it completely of air, turned in the regulator all of the way clock wise and refilled. The plenum is reading 150 bar now. I have tried moving it counter clockwise then taking two or three shots for every 1/8th turn CCW to see if it lowers and it just fills straight back up to 135-140. It's a little irritating that I don't have a manual available to me so I can know which way goes down/up in pressure but both ways so far have not revealed what does what. I'm betting it was shipped to me without the manual and cheek piece because of how long it's taking to fulfill orders some people have started to refund their pre-orders.

Tomorrow I'm going to take shots and slowly turn it CCW, dry fire three times, shoot through my chrony and see what happens.

I've unscrewed the regulator and checked the o-rings, they all seem good. No nicks or anything. Anyways, here's some pictures

Appears to be the regulator. I've gotten the chrony out and have done some testing. With the regulator in CW and backed off 1/8th turn it's sitting at 150bar shooting a 33gr mkii JSB pellet at 1090-1100fps. Turned the regulator 1/4 turn CCW, dry fired three times, turned another 1/4 and dry fired three times, still sitting at 150 bar shooting the pellets at the same speed. I am watching the regulator when dry firing drop to 130-140 bar and creep back up to 150 by the way. I repeated this a couple more times, same speed.

I tested the chrony I'm using against my nate chrony and they're about the same so I know the chrony is working properly.

If they can't walk you through a troubleshoot..they have the parts to send to you.

You should send it back to have it repaired under warranty, RTI needs to step up.

Ladies and gentlemen. I believe I have found the issue. The thing to adjust is this thing that is inside the regulator. The black thing. NOT the big, shiny, juicy hex bit to fit on a wrench with. I've pushed it all the way in and taken it all the way out - both times needing to purge of air, I can't move it with pressure. Wouldn't you know it, the pressure has gone from 200 bar to like 20 bar.
This is why we need manuals :(
Also, how am I supposed to adjust this? There's nothing to gain purchase on? I suspect they sent it without changing the screw thing. I'll update when they reply to me tomorrow.

There are visible threads in there. If that's made like the other RTI regs is should take an allen wrench to adjust it. That pic looks like it has something like foam stuck in it?

It feels like hard plastic, doesn't come off. Tapping it with a metal bit sounds like plastic. It's on the inside as well, like a filler almost to make a cap. I am perplexed.
