RTI Prophet 2 performance

Actually, it’s the 2.1 at this point. I know the difference is the CFB vs aluminum one on the standard version. I’ll assume RTI has kept their tradition of making the cocking lever non reversible, I believe the Mora is also following that setup. Anyways, how many extras are needed to appreciate this guns full potential? I see several necessary,
1 - bag rider
2- extended bottom rail
3- mod
4 extra mags
Does the gun really show up for the number it will run? Especially in 30 cal? Or does one simply go for the mora? Obviously, I’m interested in opinions from owners. I know you will generally like the gun, or you wouldn’t have it still. But does it bring that smile to your face still?

did you purchased the riffle? have a look at the forums search about the p2 , they discontinued it pretty quick, the p3 has a few more features like adjustable cheek rest, more barrel retaining screws, adjustable scope rail, a better valve , a different cocking arm ETC but to let you know RTIs like blowing probe and barrel orings pretty fast, even when installing stronger orings the riffle will blow air in your face which is disturbing

Hmm. I've a P3 that I've had since this spring and has at least 2k slugs and pellets put through it with no O-ring failures. That is to include a slug lodging just short of exiting the barrel (either over size slug in a box of NSA's or caused by taking the rifle from 72f ac out into 98f heat and not giving it time to acclimate). Define pretty fast?

mine was like that out of the box until the day i sold it , same as my neighboors with no cure he does not mind it though. . they are both .177s. that is the reason i recomended a p3, it is a better overall riffle

I agrre with you except for #1
I have the P3, and i am not certian if the dimensions for the rear of the P 2.1 is the same as on the 3
I am able to place the rifle on a rear rest and it glides very smoothly
I didn't want the additional height with the rider...though i can see in cases where that is wanted

I have recently added the plenums and the RTI LR barrel to my P3.
want to test how the 40g Beasts in .22 work out at high velocity…960 and up…the rifle has power!
It’s a very nice rifle that took me a little to warm up to it, but I am having fun with it

I also have the Prophet 1 but the performance version.
I did add a bag rider and consider it a possitive addition.
Same for the extended bottom rail, but not that super long one RTI offers, Mine is a saber tatctical & places my bypod in a much more benificial position than with out a rail.
0db moderator on mine and 8 Carm magazines.

I have had my P1 for a year and a half now and have yet to blow an o ring anywhere on the gun. I really expected to need some since I do swap barrels a bit, but my bag of spares has yet to be opened.

I've got the P2.1 and can't fault it. My only niggle is the RPB barrel. RTI replaced the 1st RPB barrel as it's crown wasn't good and I couldn't get it to group with anything! The replacement barrel shoots H&N Barracuda Match well, MRD's not so well and I have yet to find a slug that works. I also, find that the barrel needs regular cleaning to maintain the accuracy probably every 150-200 shots! I've now invested my hard earned cash on a LR barrel and its now an absolute tack-driver with MRD's and Barracuda Match. I'll keep the RPB barrel and keep testing until I find a slug so that I have two dedicated barrels.
