So a little back story. I have been searching for one of these I could afford for a while. This one popped up and seemed too good to be true. It was in very good condition, had high end Gehmann front and rear sights on it and I could afford it. The gun came with original front sight and I'm hoping the seller eventually finds the rear. The seller resealed it himself 4 years ago (gun is a 91) and used the original springs, he had detailed instructions from the seal supplier but had never done one. I had no chrony numbers, only the sellers word that it shot right, whatever that means. As a bonus I am left eye dominant and have been wanting to learn to shoot lefty, this gun happens to be a true lefty.
Fast forward to today. I had no idea if this gun was shooting right or not. I have had an issue with the front sight fitting the 9mm dovetail, but I was determined to see if it was healthy. So this session was obviously not for accuracy. Lol
I shot 3 different pellets 5 times each. They were in Meisterkugeln 7.0, JSB 8.44 and H&N FTT 8.64. The results are in the same order, avg FPS 660, 568,562. ES 3, 10, 3. So from what I've read it is shooting very healthy. Didn't seem to like the JSB's quite as much as the ES was much higher than the other two. Again, I will revisit for accuracy once I get the front sight figured out.
I took very well to the gun from the right side, felt very natural and probably much easier off the bench as this gun will be shot. The trigger is amazing, best I've ever felt, have no idea what the weight is, light for sure. Gun did not recoil, but you hear the mechanical noise and felt what I would describe as a vibration, not recoil, if that makes sense. Never shot a sidelever, let alone from the right side, so I will need to work on my cocking technique. It was very smooth and not very difficult, just need to get more comfortable with where the piston latches.
Anyway I love this thing and can't wait to shoot some targets. It was well worth the wait. Here are a few pictures, not my strong suit.
