Snowpeak M60B 30 cal. Anyone?

I paid $638 USD under today's currency rate to Missouri. All stock with the moderator.
What size bottle? I'll need to add $37 to my price for foster-installed collar purchased from Wes. "Remove-to-fill" worked OK just that .35 is thirsty and lost air for several shots re-installing bottle. Not sure Krale will keep same price when old style "remove-to-fill," inventory is sold out and only new "foster-installed," style is available. Also, magazine is nothing to brag about, Canadian company (Maple something) makes aftermarket, but not in .35. WM

I think the stock aluminum bottle is 350cc on there. 250 bar fill. I'm wondering if a 300 bar bottle and fill would be safe on the reg? It's never been a problem in the past for me on other guns. It's an easy way to get more shots. Just fill to 300 bar vs 250 and the reg is set so it's just more volume essentially.

I need to find out how adjustable the reg is as well. I'd like to get it up to 80 fpe or so. I think they're around 65 in 30 cal.

I also didn't ask Wes if this is foster fill or not. I hope so, the bottle swap thing is kinda dumb since it's basically going to be a bench rig for most people. I plan to sit out with it waiting on raccoons and possibly dillos.

I think one is living behind my dad's retaining wall. He thinks it's a groundhog, but he only sees it at night down in the yard by the shed when the motion light kicks on. I think he can't see to well anymore lol.

Snowpeak started installing foster fitted bottle collars last October, don't automatically get one until old style inventory is used up as I imagine dealers don't want to be stuck. .22 and .25 are popular so most likely only newer versions are available, not so with .35, can't say with .30. Remove-to-fill holds air in bottle but gun drains, much nicer with foster fitting, easily worth $37. Not the type to go 300 bar on a 250-bar gun, might be OK, just not for me. WM

I'll give Wes a call today and see which setup the 30 has. Hopefully he hasn't boxed it up yet and I can get the foster kit sent with it if it isn't already on there.

Did you happen to ask him about the 300 bar fill? Mine has the 480cc CF bottle on it and I had been wondering about that.
I did not. I'm sure he would say no since he doesn't want to be liable for anything. In theory it should be fine and work as any other gun with a 300 bar fill and a set regulator. I'm honestly surprised they don't come as 300 bar already.

I fill from a bottle. I have two guns rated for 300 bar fill and neither has ever been there. I guess if you fill from a compressor it is very possible to fill to 300 but I like the speed and lack of noise with a bottle fill. I would not personally fill a gun rated to 250 to 300 even if it has a bottle rated for 300. I understand it is only the parts upstream of the regulator that would see 300 bar and on this gun that is not much. But there are still parts that would see 300 bar that are not rated for it. A few more shots just doesn't seem worth taking any risk.

Made up a moderator for the 30 cal so I could do some tuning. Still waiting on the mod to ship from California I guess.

Anyhow, I had the reg set at 150 and it was only shooting 610 fos with 45 grain. I have slowly increased it to now being around 170 and it's shooting 760 fps with 50.15 jsb.

I would like to see 800s with the 50s, but the shot count will be abysmal at that power level. Guess should see if the hammer spring is adjustable and go that route now.

This gun will be used for sit down night shooting and day pesting at feeders, so I can tether it to my 3L bottle for that.

Ok, it's ridiculous the amount of screws you have to take off to get to the hammer spring adjuster. 14 screws. Why?

I digress... so clockwise makes it weaker strike and counter makes it go boom more. I brought it flush with the receiver and was hitting 850s with 50.15 grain for a full mag!

It appears someone has already drilled out the butt to access the spring adjuster. I'm hoping this wasn't a returned gun and that Wes did the mod himself.

Got a chance to shoot outside today. Tried the jsb 50.15 and they grouped okay, but nothing I'd want to push past 30 yards. Put in some fx hybrids and man they were DANGEROUS! All over the place. Loaded felt like an empty bore. They shot low, high, left, right. Made it through 10 rounds and got scared I was going to miss my 5' tall backstop.

Tried some hatsan strike pellets which actually did better than the jsb 50.15, and the 44.75 jsb.

Polymags don't fit the magazine, have to be single loaded so those are out.

Then the magic happened. I loaded up some 45.06 grain JTS dead center domes, and they will touch or stack if I do my part. I need to adjust the trigger on this thing, the take up is fine, it's just the long pull after 1st stage to break 2nd. That'll tighten up my groups I'm sure. As it sits, I have total confidence of dropping coons in my backyard.

Now if I could just stay awake til they show up at night! 😆

Want to come down and shoot them off my neighbor's trash cans. Stupid hoosiers always throwing away food and drawing them in. Wake up to a trail of trashing leading back to the woods. They never leave the house so I end up being the one to pick it all up.
That sucks man. I hate it when they get in my trash, but I'd be super heated if it was like your situation. I pick up after my trash pandas lol.
