I shoot my 30 cal M3 sitting at the bench with my left hand lighty holding the rifle's butt against my right shoulder and my left elbow on the bench.
I tested how the location of the over-bore bipod affected my ability to hold a still POA.
I started at the muzzle end of the top rail and worked my way back in increments to where the bipod mount on the factory M3 would have been located.
I found a ~ 2 inch long sweet spot where the whole rig stiffened up to the point the rig actually resists movement at my shoulder and allows me to hold a very still, steady, POA.
The above picture shows the bipod mounted in the center of that sweet spot.
