Air Force Texan leaking

I guess I’m not meant to have a pcp or at least a hand pump. Now the stupid pump is leaking somewhere. I sprayed soapy water around, but never really found the leak. I believe it’s coming from one of the quick connects from the pump. This thing is frustrating.
Hand pumps are known to have issues. Internal leakage is one of them.

Hello, again. So I have been able to get back to trying and fix my Air Force Texan. I thought it was my pump, I fixed it for now. Put the piece that goes into the quick connect that tests the pump it pumped up and held air. So I tried hooking up the gun and noticed the air coming from the barrel, if I open the breach I can pump it up, but as soon as I close it all of the air leaks from the barrel. I’ve tried looking up the problem but can’t find the specific problem. The little piece that you can slide up or back in the breach for like the first fill I can push it but it has slight resistance and goes back to the same spot, supposedly it’s supposed to do that. This is getting kinda crazy I haven’t even fired the stinking gun yet.

the Nice lady at AirForce will get you the parts you need, it's the valve on the bottle, they will probably send you a new one under warranty if you bought the gun new, btw have you shot the gun at all yet? like most mechanical things, airguns need to be used in order the wear in or seat to seals, it is also good to put a few drops of Silicone oil in the fill hose port to help keep O-ring seals lubed and soft, those Urethane seals will harden and get crusty in time, I use buna nitrile dura 7 or 9 size #006 on my Texan fill port, haven't had a problem since 2016.

I was just wanting more power, I thought I read it shoots a little harder with the higher bottle.

No. Requires either a regulator or heavier hammer spring to open valve at higher pressures. Regulator doesn't flow enough volume for a big bore. Heavier spring will beat up the valve and shorten it's life. Add to that you are hand pumping, that will get much more difficult above 3k psi.

Learn to maintain and rune within the factory parameters. Air force makes a very versatile platform.
