Beeman .22 cal O-Ring help

Hello everyone,

I need help with trying to find the correct O-Ring size to fit inside the Breech End of the Barrel. I purchased this Pistol ( Beeman 2028 ) over a month ago and it was missing the O-Ring that fits inside the Breech end of the Barrel. I contacted Beeman and spoke with Peter Hernandez and he told me that he would send me the correct replacement but I have not received it.

So what I am trying to do is figure out if any Beeman rifle in .22 caliber uses the same O-Ring. All I need is the “ID” and the “CS” ( cross section ) ( see the 2nd photo ) dimension and I can order some.

I made this drawing showing how my barrel is made, ( 1st photo ). If anybody has a .22 caliber Beeman rifle that uses the same configuration and can give me the dimensions of your O-Ring, I would appreciate it.

Just inside the Bore on the Breech end of the Barrel there is a machined offset groove that the O-Ring fits in.

Thank you,
ThomasT

Which model of Beeman is that? Armed with that knowledge, we should be able to find out the size.

Cheers,

Hello @Treefrog

It is the Beeman Marshal 2028 in .22caliber. Only one dealer here in the US has them for sale ( Ransony ) and he said that he could not get the size from Beeman ?????? However he did say that he would get an O-Ring Kit and send to me, BUT, he is not sure that this O-Ring is part of the Kit.

This is the LAST Beeman that I will ever purchase.

Thank you,
ThomasT

Okay. I feel your pain. It can be frustrating finding parts at times. Try finding motor mounts for a '59 Panhard Dyna Z. I need a set.

Pyramid lists Beeman parts here. - https://www.pyramydair.com/brands/beeman/parts?mid=55&pid=73

That o-ring is going to be an easily sourced size. Beeman is good at using common parts across all models (like Suzuki). I just wish they'd build their stuff in the US.

Hawkeye says - "My o-ring measures 7mm OD, 4mm ID x 1.5mm cross section thick. That's close to a #007, US. I used a wood dowel from the muzzle and a cleaning rod from the breach. Adjustments were made with toothpicks. Hope this helps."

I've been happy with the Beeman rifles that I own, but I'm a DIY kinda guy... My QB78 is an amazing performer for $110.

Cheers,

Hello @Treefrog

It's just hard for me to understand why Peter dosen't want to help a customer????

Anyway I might have part of the problem figured out. I think the groove is 7.5mm, so with a CS 1.25mm this would be an ID of 5mm. The CS of 1.25mm seems light, so still working.

Beeman has been great about answering any question I throw at them. It takes them a while to answer and as far as parts...all of a sudden it just shows up.
Hello @Mike_Lenardon

Maybe you can get them to give you the size of the Breech End of the Barrel O-Ring of the Beeman 2028 pistol. Let me know if you find out.

Hello everyone,

Well almost 1 - month to the day I finally received 2 each O-Rings to replace the missing Ring from the Breech End of the Barrel  . This is for my new Beeman Marshal 2028, .22 caliber Pistol. I cannot believe that it took Beeman almost a month  . I had to send 5 or 6 emails and 3 phone calls ( which they never returned my call ) and the help from www.Ransony.com who I purchase the pistol from .

For anybody that buys a Model #2028 and needs this O-Ring, the size is OD = 8mm x ID = 5mm x CS = 1.5mm and they are .04 cents each from www.oringsandmore.com, I just ordered 25 pieces.

Thanks to all the fine Forum members that tried to help me (y)(y)(y)

Well I’m glad you got it.
I thought of a way to possibly get a size of an o ring like that in a barrel. It’s not cheap and not tested.
But one could take Mikrosil and apply it in the barrel. Let it set then push it out. Mikrosil is a little rubbery and should push out intact. Measure the plug that comes out. It’s a last resort, but from my use with mikrosil in the past it should work.
In forensics we use it to cast tool marks.
