Parallax 25 - infinity it that too much for all around air rifle use

I recently got a new FX impact f4 sniper 25 cal 700mmbarrel. I’m undecided on what scope to put on it . I don’t hunt that much anymore I’m usually at the range shooting targets and steel from 10 yards to 200. The up close shooting I do is practicing speed silhouette I’m not fast enough to win any competition but I find it relaxing. On my m4 I’m thinking of mounting a Sightron sv 10-50x56 Ed second focal plane which has a 10-infinity parallax I like that it has a fine tuning adjustment what I don’t like it’s so f n big. I have around 4-5 other scopes that aren’t in current use but some of them are 15 or 25 yards to infinity in parallax. I’d rather use a ffp but all hive available in 10- infinity are second.

The reason I have a few 25 - infinity around is that I’ve been into long distance rifle shooting with my powder burners and I’ve been not really active with that lately .
So I’m going to give my SV10-50 a shot and if I’m not satisfied I may get the Sightron S6 5-30X56ED FFP - MH-7
Just looking for other opinions

I agree with you very much so. This was a factor in me choosing electro optics. In addition to filming and ballistic calculator functions you can take closer shots. I mainly hunt and will have to judge bullet drop from 23 yards to 100+ yards. But most of my shooting is in that 23 yard range as that’s where my feeding source is. I have often wondered the same thing as far as why you couldn’t have a closer paralax. Maybe someone knows?

Most of my scopes have 10M or 10Y parallax focus at max magnification but 3-4 that have the 25Y.

The 25Y min parallax scope can be used closer but they'll need to be put on lower and lower magnifications depending on closer and closer distances to get a halfway decently focused image and there will be some parallax error. So the 25Y models are usually on more powerful airguns that I don't intend to use closer than 25Y except for very seldomly.

I'm curious how many people are using full magnification on scopes shooting 25yds and under? You turn the magnification down from max and it gets better. I'd say average airgunner scope is what 6-24? I can't imagine using 24x at 25yds let alone 10yds. To each their own of course but seems excessive.
What some air gunners are looking for myself included is a scope that can be used up close when plinking or hunting, sometimes at 10 yards I’ll practice lighting match heads , on another day I’ll want to shoot Speed Silhouette and after that shoot 50 and 100 yard EBR. Then someone may challenge you to who can hit a golf ball at even longer distances. Quite often these scenarios are common when I’m at the range and I want a 1 rifle 1 scope solution especially when I’m traveling away from home and don’t have the luxury of having a truckload of my favorites at hand. Right now I’ve found 2 quality solutions that I like ,
the first is going with a Sightron S6 5-30X56 ED FFP ZERO STOP ( https://sightron.com/collections/s6-series-1/products/s6-5-30x56-ed-ffp)
The second is the Nightforce NX8 - 4-32X50mm F1 - ZeroStop - .1 Mil-Radian - DigIllum - PTL - Mil-XT ( https://www.nightforceoptics.com/riflescopes/nx8/nx8-4-32x50-f1/ )

With the military discount both of these are reachable for my shooting budget, with a roughly $300 difference to my first choice the NX8. I just have to decide on the reticle, I’m currently leaning towards the Mil XT but looking at the Horus tremor 3 &5 are interesting but they also bring up the cost. I’ll probably place my order in the next week or so, even though I probably have a half dozen unused scopes that would suffice in my reloading room but as my late father told me “you can’t take it with you” I think I’ve made up my mind,
