@Airgun-hobbyist It's quite obvious that they're being more aggressive in their marketing. And why not? If there are niches that can be served, why neglect them? We airgunners sling our fair share of lead. They also have a good reputation and solid products to stand upon. I think this can be good as long as potential customers don't expect Pyramyd AIR shipping times on all Corbin products.
@BlackICE I don't think a standard set (single-step flat, dish, or cup base hollow-point die set) costs more than a comparable custom die set. When you get into hollow-ogive hollow-point slug die sets, that's an additional $249 for the hollow-ogive IIRC. For custom ogives, additional bases, noses, etc there are additional charges. I think a boattail base costs more than standard one-step bases because they are made in a multi-step process. I don't recall the exact pricing but if you look at the link to the press and die kit you can see what caliber choices are. Mine was a single caliber then I added all of the bases and noses I wanted. I forget what the additional costs were. Bottom line is that a custom die should not cost a whole lot more than a comparable standard die set unless it's a complex design, but don't take my word for it. Speak with the folks at Corbin. Depending on what you can supply for the design, it should be a relatively easy process.
www.corbins.com @timmah I'm not sure, but my guess is that those are the two most common airgun barrel groove diameters on the market. They're likely the two sizes you will find ".22 caliber" airgun ammo in. I had a "good time" trying to learn to order .22 ammo, especially packages that were labeled incorrectly.
