Daystate AOA Plinker Package

I’m going to dive into the deep water and buy my first PCP and want to make sure that I’ve conducted my due diligence. I know that I want a regulated Daystate Revere in .177 with an Omega 75cu/ft tank with hose and male and female connections. I have a Hawke 6-24x scope that I can initially put on, but may replace in the future. It was suggested that I consider the AOA Plinker package that adds a moderator, scope (probably not the greatest) and rings, along with a soft case. The difference between the gun alone and package is $300. I’m obviously purchasing the gun from AOA.
My questions are:
1. Is the Plinker package worth $300?
2. What else do I need to start shooting, other than pellets of course?
Thanks, Tom

I bought the plinker package revere regulated .177. Is it worth it ? Maybe. If you want to use the scope that comes with it and the moderator that came with it. The gun itself isn’t loud without a moderator but would probably be necessary in an urban environment. The scope isn’t bad if just want to shoot it as is it’s not a bad scope. When you get it just go over it make sure the screws are tight, scope is correctly installed and properly torqued. I installed a Hawke 6-24 Sidewinder on mine for HFT. The soft case is ok but it won’t fit all my accessories so I ended up ordering a Savior 42 inch case.

0db are good moderators. I have one on my RTI. I am not familliar with MTC Optics and I tend to be cautious when it comes to scopes.
As far as the price goes, the additional $300 is not seem out of line.

That said, I think I would just buy the moderator and then research to get the optic that fits your needs. Be careful, there are a lot of junk optics on the market.

Your Hawke scope is a good value optically, it's just a big, heavy thing and, IMO, isn't the best match for the Revere. If you will be shooting in an urban setting, you will probably want a moderator. I don't know anything about the MTC scope, but you could buy the package and give the scope a try. If you are shooting at modest distances under good light, it might be satisfactory.

I just looked at this hard. I bought an Atomic over the weekend. I'm in the same boat, I have scopes I want to use. I have more moderators in all my calibers than i can keep track of. I already have two savior tactical soft cases when I need some. I'm in Florida, so I wear columbia fishing shirts, not cotton.

I thought of buying it and selling the stuff I didn't want. But I have a 1yo and no time, so I decided that was too much for me.

I bought the Atomic and the Air Superiority HS adapter. The two things I wanted. Doing the math you could come out ahead, but is it worth your time? If they offered it with an extra magazine instead of the scope, I probably would have done it haha.

depends on HOW you plan on using the gun. You really can't go wrong with a Revere but how you are intending to use it can affect suitability somewhat.

I bought (3/23) the We the P etc package for the Daystate revere regulated .177. The scope back then was an Athlon Argos 2-12X42 HMR. I did not want a hubble on the Revere and had no need for more mag. As such, it was a good value, and that scope works very well in this package. The mod is helpful, and the rifle is very quiet, accurate and refined.

That said, I am fairly certain that I got a rifle a bit shop worn. There were minor scuffs that suggest the tech who installed the scope should have cleaned his/her bench first. I am well satisfied, however.

MTC scopes are ok, but that one is not in the same class as that rifle, in my opinion.
The tee shirt worked fairly well for cleaning the wheels on my truck.
