Live in minnesota so it's always humid. Especially during the summer.
I'll try a few tips here and do it once every 2-3 months. To minimize any rust.

If i walk outside with a rifle that was inside it immediately has condensation on it. I have to stage them near a window in my office that’s always a little warmer due to old windows to warm them up to minimize condensation. I’m not trying to minimize other peoples conditions, but it’s the tropics down here

For all of my guns I’ll clean the barrel with Hoppes or Shooters Choice and run a patch with Rem Oil down it. I wipe all of the exterior metal parts with REM Oil and then with a reel/gun cloth. I do this every time I shoot and keep them stored in a climate controlled environment. As humid as it gets here in the southeast I don’t have much in the way of any corrosion.

Many products are packed with a packet of silica gel. I save them all.
I found a box of "dehydrating powder" at the thrift store. For drying flowers. Same stuff. Slica gel.
Hung it all in a mesh bag in the safe. It works great.
They make "pumping lubricantt" for concrete pumps. Same stuff cheap. Its called "slick pack". Get a quarter pound for a $5 bill. Toss a sock full of that stuff in the safe and rust no more. You can get it at any masonry/ concrete outfit.
They make a product called "boveda". It's designed to stabilize humidity in cigar boxes. Works great. Comes in several humidity ranges. A big one or three will keep humidity stable in a gun safe. It's food grade salts. Check it out. Perfect for maintaining an exact humidity in an enclosed space like a gun safe.
All are the same. Just set them in the corner and they dry the air in your safe.

I still use the silicone impregnated "gun and reel" cloths to wipe down the metal when I remember. And I need to make more of a deliberate point of doing this after each use since my son started shooting and that kid has filthy sweaty boogery kid hands!

To be honest when I saw Shinynight`s picture of his liner, I got a litle scared. I went and checked some of my liners I have not used in a very long time. I have never thought about oiling them after use, and lucky me I did not notice any rust.
But I once did a foolish thing dipping the action of my FX impact under water to find a leak. I believed if I just shaked the water out, and let the gun dry in my living room over night, everything would be ok.
But all the internal parts like hammer, hammer spring, and trigger mechanism got corroded. The gun would hardly fire, as the trigger mechanism did hang up. It made me take the action apart to clean, and polish the internals.
Since the action is aluminum, it is the internal metal parts which corode the most, if the gun has been soaked in water. A hard lesson learned. As I sidenote, the leak was just a very tiny one, from one of the gauges I earlier had installed.

There are so many products that would work, from cheap to not-so-cheap, some of the best are also used on fishing gear,Fact is good fishing gear lube, like salt water fishing lube is great.I always have Rem Oil on hand I like it because it is thin. I got the specialty stuff also. The FACT is just use an old t-shirt with RemOil soaked in it and wipe down your guns after use and there should be no problems.

The Product Farm guy on YouTube ran extensive tests on CLPs for rust prevention and found that Break Free CLP was the best, followed closely by Frog Lube. I use Frog Lube and Ballistol only because I've got so much of the stuff lying around. Also, I love the smell of Ballistol.

I keep guns in my safe wiped down with ballistol every so often. Like someone else said a dehumidifier for the safe might be a good idea. Your case is a little more tricky as that is a moisture in the gun problem more so than on the gun. Just going to have to disassemble every so often and wipe those parts down.

Same here remoil soaked rag in a zip lock baggie. I wipe down all bluing after shooting and putting away. It will still patina slightly over time, you can see it best with a flash light.

I too use the same rag to wipe all my guns knives and reels because of the oil residue on the rag. I think I have used the same rag for ?years. Particularly the areas I handle the guns most like a break barrel ETC.

I wipe my guns down with Rem Oil, and I have dessicant bags in my safes. There is also a thing firearm guys use in their safes called a golden rod, which is a plus in 110v dehumidifier for your safe.

Renaissance museum wax on everything. Also, if you can find it, MP-5 oil. They stopped making it but occasionally it pops up for sale on auction sites, etc.

Yep I have a whole bottle of Beeman MP-5 oil and I've never even used it..lol. Always remoil.

Some people have rusty fingers, i.e. high acid or alkaline that doesn't help. Personally I like a light coat of almost any oil on a rag. Note WD40 is NOT an oil, it is used to displace water, like when you give your gun or reel a bath in water.

When I see people use wd40 on a firearm I just cringe. That crap will gum up when it gets mixed with carbon/powder and heat.
