While reading fourms here i came across a thread on pellet holders. Ive been useing a chew can lol. One stood out as neat, a leather clamshell style. So I fires up the chainsaw to go get a log to make the forms. After i have said log fire up the turning lathe make the molds. Then get some leather scraps leftover from gun and knife holster making and press in form. Next stitch install rivits and snaps finish with my beeswax mixture used for sealing my handmade long bow. All in all it turned out decent... time for number 2 lol. I think the forms turned out better than the pellet holder other than the crack in one. So because of a new airgun hobby ive gotten to use several hobbies just so my pellets have a better home till i launch them at something.

I have been using Zyn containers I get from co-workers., old pill bottles and other things. Though I am always trying to find something new to carry ammo around in.
I have been trying to cut back on my RC planes lately. I have flown long range FPV planes for a while and I am finding it harder and harder to get out and fly them. So they are hanging in my shop on the wall. Really sucks knowing how much money is tied up into something hanging on my wall! Hobbies come and go for sure, just need to find the next "fix"

I agree ive tried to make my hobbies practical and usefull. I usually syart a new hobby trying to learn a new skillset. Im on of thoses idiots that would spend $500 in materials and mostly tools to make something i can but for $50. But then i van say its mine and not just something i bought lol im strange that way

I was thinking of leather folded over but that is a lot nicer. Where did you find that clip ? I did leather craft in high school but that was over 54 years ago lol. Nice job sir

Another project with folded leather loop and as far as the clip i bought a bunch of supplies for making kydex holsters so i have several different belt clip styles they all came from a holster making supply site i dont remember the site name i still dabble in leatherwork its fun to make stuff the pics are of my leatherman sheathI was thinking of leather folded over but that is a lot nicer. And my leatherworking came from needing knife sheaths for my custom knives no classes for me in school 30 some years ago
Nothing beats the smell of fresh leather!! Loved going into saddle shops as a kid and just soak in that smell. Our old cow breeder made some amazing things out of leather. Made me a custom gun strap with a duck on it as I used to be big into duck hunting. I should find where I put it. It was so nice I couldn't use it lol

I often refer to my life as big toy collection. RC planes and boats,air guns, photography which I spent a lot of time getting paid for. Trains in three gauges. That’s some beautiful work right there. It’s got a practical side but is a work of art as well.

Yeah, airgunning spawned a couple of hobbies. I like to make stocks and am considering getting into swaging slugs.
Fishing has been much worse though. Building rods, boats, canoes and kayaks. Casting jigs and weights; making lures and tying flies. The latest thing is making various types of those speciality British fishing floats.
As the OP pointed out, it's all the support equipment and tools needed that gets you.

Stock making is not difficult and can be done with tools found in a typical home work shop.
