Should i buy superior heavy if i already have slug A liner?

So I have a slug A liner in my fx impact 25 cal. I only shoot nsa slug cause I find it's the cheapest slug vs all the other slugs. I shoot 36 gr nsa. I have 10 boxes of them. My slug A liner does about 2 inches groups at 100 yards. When I say groups it's at least 5 shots to 10. Not 3 shots like some ppl doing. To me that is ok but I would prefer under 1 inch at 100 yards or is that too much to ask for. My gun is tune to shoot them at 960 fps and 150 bar. I was wondering would the new superior heavy be any better to get tighter groups with nsa slugs? The only video I see someone testing superior heavy vs slug A liner is ted. But he only tested with fx slugs and knock out. He never tested with nsa. Have anyone shoot nsa slugs from superior heavy and slug A liner can fill me in if I should folk up $110 plus shipping and tax for better groups. I don't wanna spend money and find out it is worst or the same. Then trying to sell it back on here and get low balls.

Just don't, if it already works, dont try to fix what's not broken. I would suggest cleaning the barrel first, when shooting slugs your barrel fouls up and looses a bit of accuracy unlike when shooting pellets. If cleaning your barrel gives you better, and more consistent groupings then I suggest doing some minor polishing of the barrel. It will help the barrel foul less frequently.

Thats a bad group for that gun at 100 i would try cleaning and if dont work get the better liner, i have quite a few pcp and i have one 600 bucks no reg gets a better group you will figure it out and good luck

Well nothing is broken. I just want better/tighter groups at longer ranger 100 yards or more to take out sparrows and other birds at long distance. Tried cleaning liner with ballistol spray on napkins and pulling it through with fishing lines. Grouping about same b4 and after cleaning. Also tedholdver and Matt dub said only need to clean when get new from factory. After that it never need cleaning. I rarely clean the fx liners. Maybe once a year.

Did they say that (cleaning) about shooting SLUGS or PELLETS? Slugs are known for fouling barrels more often than pellets.

Mine was purchased in 2019 I believe. It's the 600mm 25 cal. The twist rate is 1:20 on fx site. But when I measure with tape measure it was like 1:20 1/2. The newer superior is 1:18. I have not try other type/brand of slugs cause I find nsa slugs are more affordable. I bought mine a 1-2 year ago. It was buy 4 get the 5th free, and box of 275 for $18. Knockout slugs are $20 for only 150 slugs. Like wtf. And fx slug is $16 for only 100 slugs. So can't beat nsa when it comes to slugs.

They don't mention if slug of pellet. But they both said fx liners are so smooth that it rarely leave anything behind and even if it did, the next shot will clean it out. So they claim fx liner do not need cleaning. I used to shoot jsb 34gr pellets and they were far more accurate than the nsa slug. But I move into slug for higher BC. Less drop at long range and handle the wind better. I find pellets are accurate but when there is wind, I would miss a lot of shots. That's only reason I move into slugs. Haven't buy pellets in years.

Impulse slugs are basically cheaper price (same or higher) quality hybrid slugs. UA has them I believe I paid 18 or 19 for 200.

Ive had better accuracy out of Superior pellet liner 1:24 than sup heavy. Heavy mk1 and some 32-36 performed a bit better. But... I've found my superior pellet eats 30gr H&N slugs and keeps me 1.5" or better at 100. Hybrids are very velocity picky. But at 925 they give me .7-1.1 MOA.

I believe Ted saying he doesn't clean the barrels unless he just got it new from factory because almost 100% of the time he just shoots pellets.

But if you ask any competition shooter they clean their barrels when shooting slugs every 100-500 shots, and polishing your only exte ds that. Even with how FX liners are made you eventually will have to clean your barrel, more in particular with slugs that aren't 100% or mostly 100% lead. Like NSA slugs, they have about 5% antimony.

If cleaning hasn't really changed anything, polishing will. But if you really are wanting to strictly shoot heavy slugs and don't want to try polishing, then it would be worth getting the heavy liner, as long as you do get the heavy liner.

Yeah that was a load of BS they were trying to sell if that's what they said. Their videos are marketing/sales when it comes to showing FX products. You don't get all the info. Not cleaning a barrel with slugs is definitely not reality if you want to have consistent accuracy especially if using harder slugs like NSA.

The new slug liner is 1:16. If I wanted a dedicated slug setup I would use the 1:16. Its worked really good for me except for not shooting NSA slugs good but the H&N heavy are very accurate in mine.

Talking about 25 cal. It's 1:18 for superior heavy. 25. In .22 cal is 1:16.

Nope. They have a 1:16 .25 slug liner that came out early this year or end of 23 cant remember. Trust me I have one and you can buy it at UA. Those lists you posted are not correct or up to date.

Fx just keep making more and more liners. Do they expect us to buy every single liners just to test which one shoots best. That's fx. Lol. Ill look into the 1:16, if ppl get good results vs the 1:18 and 1:20. May have to give it a try.

Its called rolling development. As the projectiles change so do the requirements of whats needed to get the best results. For what ever reason it seems air powered slug shooting is more complicated than smokeless powder driven slugs. So its only normal to get changes/ updates or what ever you want to call it to get more performance. If you want to shoot slugs especially heavier / longer slugs then you will want the faster twist. Either the 1:18 or the 1:16, personally I would go 1:16.

Look at barrel manufacturers like bartlein, benchmark and krieger they have multiple twist rates per caliber and different groove numbers. No different than FX offering different options for the buyer to get what works for their set up. I am glad FX offers different liners. having multiple options allows me to test different liners so I can find what gives me the best results and use that.
