BSA Huma regulator Super10

I asked if Huma had an regulator for the BSA Super10, they did not butt where interested in making one.

They did need a rifle to make one so I send mine and a regulator prototype was made.

It words like a charm and very accurate, has a bigger plenum than original. So greater power would be possible.

If it will go in production depends om the demand so if you want one give them an message

Very easy the used a RAW/theoben reg as basis and it went from there. So unscrew the knock open valve on the old regulator and put on the new regulator tube. You can adjust the spring pressure on the valve and the pin that opens the bottle.

They put a sleeve arround the bottle adaptor so maybe they have a quickfill in the future

I got a S10 about 7 years ago in a trade. I had to rebuild the regulator and it worked good but the original regulator design is finicky and would give some pressure variance. Then one day the regulator started leaking and I couldnt get it to stop so the S10 has been sitting un used for several years. I just ordered the huma so I can get the rifle back into action.

My S10 was very accurate and it is a pain to rebuild the original reg. Mine was a sub 12 fpe rifle and when I rebuilt it I bought the necessary reg parts to turn it into a fac power level rifle. It still shot good but I didnt like it as much and returned it back to 13 - 14 fpe not sub 12 but lower than 18 -20 fpe and its nice and smooth at 13 - 14 fpe or less. I cant wait to get the huma and get it fixed. I will be tuning it to around 10 - 11 fpe for pest removal in delicate areas that cant be done with higher power. I built shrouds for it and it is extremely quiet at sub 15 fpe.

Ive just got the Huma reg for my S10; nicely made and i see they have an installation guide online now. look forward to getting some time to install it.
Set from the factory at 90.5 bar so will be interesting to see power output
Mine came set at 70 bar. I had modded my S10 quite a bit so I dont have the original main spring and it was the FAC model anyway. I ended up with a reg setting around 80 and a soft main spring I had from the earlier tuning of the original regulator to get 10 fpe with 8.4 gr. AA pellets. I also had to play with the adjustment for the poppet spring pre load to get tight ES and the right velocity.

im in New Zealand so FAC is fine; wanting to balance shot count and power as a .22 pest gun.
Mine was UK power so has the softer hammer spring, cant seem to find a FAC one around. previous owner fiddled it to high power, but the Huma should help consistency etc

I am in the US so fac was fine but I wanted the low power for close up work and for around delicate buildings. I found the springs for tuning at my local hardware store. Not sure how things are in New Zealand but if you have hardware stores or something similar I bet you can find the correct size spring and different spring rates for tuning.
