Customs fees from Krale to US.

'What is customs duty?

You’ll need to pay customs duty (or import tax) on any goods you move across the US border from other countries, though goods from some countries are exempt due to different international trade agreements. The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforces customs rules.
Customs duties vary by country of origin and type of product. You'll need to know the Harmonised Tariff System or HTS code to calculate the exact rate due. CBP uses extended version of international HS codes — Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States Annotated (HTSUS).
The minimum threshold for import tax is $800. Goods valued below that are not subject to duty.'

I've ordered from Krale three times, I think. First was a P35. Value less than $500 and no customs duty was assessed. Next were two P35s at the same time and I paid a customs duty to UPS who was the shipper picked by Krale. I had to pay it before the guns could clear customs in the US. It was not a lot of money but was a little bit of a hassle. Next order was a scope and some pellets and no duty. So my experience is consistent with the $800 others have provided.

Thanks for your input. I was wondering if Krale would just add the import fee to the shipping charges or if it was an entire separate process. I may be purchasing a Walther LG400 FT from them in the future and I am curious about the import process.

I thought it was like 4% of the total value purchased when you exceed the $800 limit.

Then I believe that UPS has some of their own fees which are added when they need to collect Customs Duties.
I'm pretty sure the breakdown was $70 for customs and $13 for UPS surcharge fee.

Just checked the UPS invoice - the Tariff rate shows as 3.9%.

I buy almost everything from AOA never any problems, never pay tax and most times Free Shipping! Why would I buy from another Dealer ! AOA is The Best !
I will generally agree with you regarding AoA - pretty much my go-to shop as well.

But they can't/don't stock every brand & model, so sometimes one needs to go elsewhere.

Sometimes a brand might only be available in the U.S. from an outfit like Edgun West. And since I ain't shopping there, my best bet for purchase is a Euro store.
