Oops. I slipped and fell on the BUY IT NOW button. Have been in need of a pick me up, and the timing was right on. KRALE in the Nederland was happy to take my card and was even careful about ID theft and fraud. I appreciate that after the runaround I got from those guys in Canada.

The package is a Reximex Tormenta in .25 with a couple of extra magazines, in synthetic. I have nothing against the Walnut stock, and may pick one up later just because. I already have a Kral .25 Knight that has done OK, but I feel that I have maxed out its potential. The Knight is quite large and a bit unwieldy for field work. The Tormenta should fill in the Airgun quiver nicely.

Glass is to be decided. Reximex claims 40fpe stock. I will shoot it before I change anything.

I've liked the styling of the Tormenta/Myth since I first saw it. What held me back was 1) I would likely have to add a moderator to use on my lot, making it a fair bit longer, and 2) I'm unsure about the air bottle being the cheek rest (i.e. it's too high). I know AirForce guns do this, but I've never had one and have read a lot of negative comments about it. I'm sure its one of those where it works for some, and not for others. I know the extended air capacity is a plus!

I've read somewhere (here, likely) that while the gun is labeled for a 250bar fill, the rear bottle had been labeled only for 200bar. That may have changed, but it's something to check out.

I am curious how much adjustment is possible with the rifle. I likely wouldn't try to push it above the rated 40fpe, but maybe dial it back a bit to increase shot count. I've read it gets about 70 shots in .25.

This model was slated to be the Benjamin Ecko last year but was dropped, apparently as the Crosman/Reximex contract wasn't renewed.

There are some strong family resemblances between the NP02 and the Tormenta/Myth for sure. I was tempted to buy the NP03 for a long time. When I am not shooting for score, I am shooting pests for a local farmer. The .25 Knight is OK at both tasks, but not superstar for either. I think the Tormenta will be easier to shoulder and handle while mounted on the ATV. The shot count available in both bottle guns is more than I need for pest control, which simplifies my gear load out. The magazines are not interchangeable, bummer, otherwise I would be able to pack enough pellets to use a whole tank of air.

I have chased the FPE dream long enough to realize accuracy and shot count are more important than squeezing every last foot pound out of the gun. My .22 can sling 45+ fpe, but I have it tuned down to around 22-23 fpe. My rodents are not that large and I usually shoot between 20-75 yards. That also puts less stress on the internals of the gun.

I have to say the international UPS was not terribly expensive, and 3 day service from Europe is danged good. I live in a place where most of the country is 3+ days shipping for everything.

I have to admit that the Tormenta is larger than I had imagined. The hand grip is satisfyingly beefy.

That said, I did have to move the bottle shroud back to get a good LOP. When I did so, I found the set screw was a plain cup screw that had been driven into the bottle leaving a small mark. Before I reinstalled the set screw, I cut an approximately 2mmx2mm leather patch to put in the socket before the screw to afford a buffer against the bottle.

I have not used the front rail on either of my prior Kral guns. I have mounted the bipod on the front sling stud. I will give it a try both ways on the Tormenta.

The Donny Tatsu really knocks the edge off the report. It is a long way from silent, but nowhere near painful. I had no problem running the KYL rack from 50 yards on the first tank of air once I had the scope set.

Happy with the Tormenta and it will get better after I clean the barrel ;)

Tried the Donny Sumo and LOVED IT! It totally swallowed the sound of the shot... but I can't use that one without a 90 degree fill adaptor. The Sumo is just a bit too fat to fill the gun without removing the moderator every time. That simply won't work for me, so the Tatsu is going to be the one. I feel that there is some hammer bounce on the shot, as air usage is higher than I expect at ~20-24 psi per shot. At lower presssures, I hear the valve bouncing. IYKYK - the gun "farts" a little on each shot. Rested on the table top, it is good to go. I will have to take it to the farm to get some field work out of it.

I´ll chime in on Rex units in general.
Indeed for some of them hammer bounce can be experienced. The more expensive Meta though carries a rather intricate and in a way unique hammer stop to handle this, and it does - rather effective.
Having experience with both the regulated and non regulated Reximex guns i´ve found that their valves and general setup flows like there´s no tomorrow.

Power capacity is of course also a matter of barrel length, and although the Daystar, Throne and what not carries 58cm jobbies the shorter ones on the Tormenta and what not will still deliver.
From experience i can tell you that winding the adjuster all the way in on the Daystar on a 250 fill for a 25cal will hand you an easy 60J no other "mods" pulled.
Porting done, though conservative, that number will just about skyrocket - for a generic pcp that is.

I also happen to keep the Meta Premium on hand with its 700mm barrel and although the Premium no doubt is yet a few steps up the ladder seeing the hang tag, it certainly shows too.
Carries a few "mistakes" as i regard it. The already rather long Meta Premium for some reason carries a diffusor for the shroud i simply don´t get. At 120mm length all it does is make an already long gun even more so, to no avail really.
I´ve thus replaced that part with a more "FX looking" piece of kit, which made the unit an easy 10cm shorter - which it sure needs. In turn said diffusor registers on the barrel (both the stock one and the one by me) which is a very good thing for linearity between the barrel and the moderator - thus making it possible to keep through holes on both the diffusor and moderator on the smaller end, making for a way more effective package all in all.

I lasted 4 days before I attacked the gun. The stock comes off with one bolt and the removal.of the cross bar safety. Turned upside down the gun looks like the Kral family. The trigger sear engagement is still a hex head bolt. I cocked the gun (nothing in the chamber!!) and turned the bolt until the gun fired. Then backed that off 1/4 turn. Function checked. Trigger much improved.

The barrel is secured with two Allen bolts, ala Kral. I removed the barrel for a quick clean. I did not bore scope it, yet.

The rear top rail is fixed with three bolts and three pins. Removed, that exposed the pellet probe and cocking lever. The fit and finish inside is superior to my Kral generation 1 and 2 guns. I did not get further into the gun before dinner plans. I ran a shot count test over the chronograph. The 1st thirty shots from 250 bar fill showed consistent 805-ish fps.

The next 50 shots showed a steady decline in energy. As is, the claim of 90 usable shots is not realistic. Maybe 40, 50 if you make adjustments for the last 10.

Got a little deeper into the gun today. Found that I had to remove the rear bottle to get to the hammer adjust. Stock, the adjuster was turned in 1/2 turn. I turned it 5 whole turns before the gun failed to cock. Backed off to 4 1/2 turns and gained almost 22 fps. Not a huge gain. I was unable to remove the hammer spring retainer as all my screw drivers were too thick to properly engage the slotted head. I am pretty sure I am done with the exploratory surgeries. I doubt I can get much more out of the gun that it came from the factory.

Still get 30 shots within reasonable consistency. The .25 AA domes at 25.4g are getting to 820 +/- fps for 38-ish fpe. Power starts to drop off around 200 bar. Velocity drops fast after the pressure hits 200 bar. I am not sure if drilling the ports would help with air delivery, or if I even want to extend the shot count. This gun is intended to be an ATV mounted pest gun and not a high-volume bench session gun.

It would be possible to remove the stock/rear tank and shoot as a pistol if you can find the right thread for a plug. The downside is that you would lose 65% of your air reserve. For tuning at the bench (tethered to a tank) it would be a HUGE bonus so that you would not have to handle the rear tank loose from the gun. For general shooting I doubt it would be worth the tradeoff.

Indeed Kral and Reximex are under the same ownership. Where Rex is supposed, long run, to be a step up from the Krals
So.. related, to say the least.

As i´ve come to understand that the Meta Premium is a rather rare bird the other side of the ocean, here it is.

...next to my M3. Both 25cals. The Rex actually being the one current that hits harder of the two.
