Benjamin Gen 1 .25 marauder

I just ordered a Gen 1 .25 marauder off airguns of arizona with a custom stock and it says also has a shorter barrel. Does anybody know what length the barrel could be?

I believe the standard barrel is only 20 inches. What makes the Marauder appear to have a long barrel is the very effective shroud and built in moderator. It appears that rifle may have had the shroud cutback to barrel length thus negating the purpose of the shroud altogether.
True I did not think about that maybe airguns of arizona just put on there it has a short barrel.

100 fpe ain't happening with that shortened barrel or that gun in 25 cal. Well, not without a ton of money and work. 100 fpe isn't easy to achieve without going bigger.
My plan was to do 0.220 on the valve exhaust port and 0.220 on the barrel port and .300 on the valve throat and no return spring and a heavy hammer spring and heavy hammer but since it has a shortened barrel I may buy a longer shroud and barrel. What's your thoughts on that stock?

That rifle also has a spacer to achieve for some reason a high rise breach?

What is your facination with 100 fpe? I have several 1022 rifles that can make from around 40 fpe to 150+ fpe with better accuracy and much less costs and are at least as quiet with Quiet or Subsonic rounds. A .25 caliber Marauder is not going to make 100 fpe in any practical way. And likely it will shear off the four breech to air tube screws that are simply not up to that power level and especially sandwiching a high rise spacer.

What exactly is the purpose of the breech riser/spacer?

I'll probably just take the breech riser off when I get it

I imagine the breech riser is there to allow a moderator to fit above the reservoir tube.
You aren’t going to make 100fpe with that 12” barrel on the marauder. You can estimate each inch of barrel added will provide approximately 10fps to the pellet speed. I would be looking for a good custom barrel about 26” long to begin with, and then go from there. You want to shoot slugs right? Because pellets are going to be trash accuracy at .25 cal 100 fpe levels. So you need a barrel with a twist rate and no choke that is going to handle the heavier slugs. Don’t skimp on your barrel. What good is 100fpe if you have no accuracy?

Have you considered just buying an Airforce Texan? Or even a Condor? It seems like they would be more in line with what you are trying to achieve and you could quit being Sid from Toy Story and stop mangling all the Marauders.

Can the breech riser be removed and be used like normal?

Yes it’s just a spacer between the breech and the reservoir. However you’ll have to get a standard length transfer port and the normal length screw for the bolt that engages the hammer.
No thoughts on getting a Texan?
I all ready have big bores pbba .308 and pbba .457 and xp badger .40 I had a Condor .25 I didn't really like it...
