Sub-moa barrels

Yes I have a .25 Skout Evo with a 28” SubMoa barrel! I am really blown away by the quality of this barrel. It’s really going to be awesome to get out and shoot this thing.
28" ...nice ...is it pellet specific?
what's the approx weight of the barrel?
Waiting on a .22 when it becomes available through Skout

The barrel is about 3 oz shy Of 8 pounds. I unfortunately have not had the chance to get out and shoot it. I will tomorrow though.

Not me... but if/when they offer longer blanks... 3ft+... I won't be able to resist.

Curiosity piqued...what are your plans for a 36"/10.3lb or a 40"/11.4lb barrel?

I asked about one for my Paradigm and I was told that they have them, they need to be contoured. But I was told that the barrels have not been tested with the older style Evol rifles. So there is a possibility that the rifle will not play well with the barrels, and still won't shoot slugs. Though with the barrel already shooting pellets quiet well, it would be nice to have the option for slugs. And now having the Corbin press it would be GREAT to have another slug shooter in the stable for hunting. Lugging around the RAW is kind of a pain.

Have been emailing with Tom to see if I can get one to play with and see if I can get them to work. Would love to get the Paradigm to shoot slugs.

Yes I've done it. There's no other option when ordering an uncontoured blank. I think the best method is to contour before drilling, reaming, and rifling but I don't know for sure.

Or normalize the barrel in an inert atmosphere so that when you contour the barrel, there is no residual stress to spring it open where steel has been removed from the OD. This applied to hammer forged and button rifled barrels. On the other hand, hammer forged barrels are sold for their work hardened bores, and that will go away if you stress relieve them, before contouring.

Name a barrel maker that contours barrels before rifling them?
