2240 Flow Thru Probe with Grav Mag???

Hello, I have a PCP converted 2240 XL I put a 10" barrel and am using a Grav Mag on the steel breech. Trying to see if there's easy option to get a little fps boost.

I want to know if anyone has used a Charles Mellon Flow Thru probe with the Grav Mags?

I know it says on there on Grav Mag do not use extended probes as when they're rearward it may not go back far enough to clear the mag and load a pellet.

I asked Charles if the Flow Thru probe would work and if it is expended compared to a normal steel breech probe but he just said to ask the forums and I didn't get an answer about if it is extended.

Any one have experience with these probes and the Grav Mags?

Could get a 14" barrel to gain more power. I had a 10" barreled pcp 2400 tubed gun that did 21 fpe for 6 shots. Port it out to around .165" and get a power adjuster and .045" spring. Should be all the power you need on a 3000 psi fill.

That is what I've been playing with doing in my head but I keep saying "no, you have a Notos for carbine...keep the 2240 a pistol!!" Lol Cause once you put an LDC on there after the 14" barrel that thing is basically touching the 10 yard target 🤣

BTW you made a very clean pistol in that photo. My PCP conversion is more awkward, it has a new way to cock the hammer in that there's a ball you pull back where your power adjuster is on yours. Wish I could get conversion like yours but this one claims it has higher spring power so needed the new way to cock it. Also mine is regulated and I currently get 18 shots / fill but wonder if adjusting the regulator higher than 6 MPA would get me much more before I only can shoot a handful before reloading. I feel like it's balanced well between shots / fill now since that's 3 magazines worth out of the 5 shot Grav Mag (I load it 5 +1). But I am very far from 21 FPE!

Hi tim
I used a hollow probe from g mac custom and didn't really see a difference to be fair.
I found a longer probe was better as the airflow still has to go through a right angle inside the hollow probe.
I'm familiar with your pistol which attaches to the crosman frame.
I would leave regulator as is.
Valve volume is small In cc volume so nothing can be done inside without damaging it.
If I remember correctly you can sweep the transfer port similar to the crosman valve for better air flow.
Where barrel meets transfer port needs to be airtight as a considerable amount of fps will be lost just from this part.
A lighter valve spring may also help and shape of the poppet then your not stressing the pistol to much with heavier hammer spring 👍
