Other What $250 means to me

Diana are good guns, i have several , one is an old model 23 , never been apart that i can tell and still shoots very nicely, It was designed as a kid's rifle so it is small but still well made . Father and son or daughter out shooting together with a rifle just like dads , what a wonderful memory some must have .

That's exactly how I see it, only different!

I'm neither an HW or Diana snob, nor HW or Diana hater. To me it's more of a specific-models thing (of either/both). That said, I like more HW models than Diana models.

Sure do like my Diana 38 since chopping the barrel-



And sure do like my .22 R-9, since installing a Vortex Kit-



Hmmmm... there seems to be a recurring theme developing.

When I do my part (correctly), either of these nice sproingers will keep all their shots almost touching at 50 yards...

Until they won't.

I highly respect the Diana rifle. It was my first airgun love. I wanted one for 50 years before I purchased one.

There is no denying the quality and performance of the HW's.

I love them all. Mine are all very good shooters. The HW's may be a bit more accurate. Not much.

The HW's are definitely more refined. The bluing and the fit are better. But for utility I think they are equal.

I have shot (and broken) numerous hatsan 95's. Not in the same class as a Diana by any means. But solid shooters and a great value as well. I love them too. I shoot one daily.

The question is like asking,"do you prefer redheads or brunettes?". The answer is simple. Both and preferrably together. And if the Hatsan is willing all three.

No, not been lucky enough to find anything $250 that meets my OCD requirements. Older Diana's like 'em, otherwise HW has a deep line-up that is solid for decades. Late model Diana's seem lacking in so many areas, but Diana is still making and selling them.

Present-day Weihrauchs are so Russian roulette internally I wouldn't buy one for any real money. I find the "refinement" of HW's skin-deep. The many Dianas I have aren't lacking in anything.

Around 250 is the max I would pay for any spring gun anymore. I have built a nice German arsenal with that limit mostly in effect. Where I live, second-hand Dianas outnumber second-hand Weihrauchs about 2 : 1. I'm fine with that, since I'd like to get a couple Dianas more, and will likely never buy a HW again.

My Diana 48 was used and cost $175 in 1992. I bought a hatsan 125 sniper in .177 last year for $120 . I bought a hatsan 135 vortex in .22 for $175 a few months ago.

Funny price point I guess.

I bought a gun this week for 250 dollars. I don’t have room in my gun safe for another gun. So I bought a safe for 250 dollars . But don’t have room for the safe so I had to sell a hydraulic press and a drill press. You got it 250 bucks.

I had a Diana 34- .177 I bought at a pawn shop back in the early 80s I think 82. Had a scope on it but can't remember which one. That gun was a tack driver. loaned it to a "friend" and he left town with it lol. Ive had a couple of each Diana and HW since. Currently I'm down to one. HW95N .20
I love it so far.
