Umarex Notos build/accuracy questions

970 is super fast for a 12” barrel. Like others said try heavier pellets.id bet it shoots better and way more efficient around 800-850. Mine shoots norma heavy 17.6 really well and they are dirt cheap.

There are lots of things you can do to increase accuracy but first up is buying known accurate pellets and trying them.
Once you have a pellet the gun likes, clean the bore to clean steel.
Heavier pellets seem to like the Notos.

So your Notos is shooting 18 grain @970fps?
That is about 37 fpe!

I used 21 grain baracuda 5.52s in my notos and they shot on average 666 fps lol. It was Hell on sparrows and squirrels! Quiet little hammer.

lol i know what you mean! i’m using 23 grain nsa around 675 fps and tagging pest birds out to 50 yards. so slow i can see the slug hammer down on top of them
one bird even tried to fly away cause it heard me shoot but instead flew in the direction of the slugs trajectory. knocked it out of the air about 2-3 feet from where it took off flying.that would have been awesome to have recorded. Upvote 0
