N/A Hy-Score Moment of Madness

Since I decided to renovate my ugly duckling 800 Target Model, I have set about polishing the main body. Things are progressing well with my plan to re-blue everything, but then I saw a picture of a Crosman 1377 that had been polished with all the plastic parts in black.
Why not do the same with the Hy-Score?

And then the madness took over, why not apply some yellow glass paint to give it a golden (or brass) look?
So I tried a sample area...

Anyway, normal service has been resumed and it is going to be re-blued!

It's is getting there, back together and working, (pictures to follow) but the fp2 with 12.96 grain pellets, the fps has dropped from 330 to around 295. I think the problem is I forgot to add any oil to the barrel outer surface to create a seal with the piston bore.

I am looking for some advice on the best oil for the job, currently thinking of some SAE 30 detergent free, but happy to be advised of anything better.

I think we are at cross purposes.
My pistol was originally blued, but it was not cared for and had turned brown. I am polishing it back to bare metal so I can re-blue it to the original condition.
The grip was smashed and had been bodged back together badly. I have got an intact replacement.
Got it, misunderstanding on my part. Best of luck with restoration. WM
