Airgun Technologies Agt Vulcan 3 .30 and zan slugs

I am still torn between the U2 and the V3. You seem to be one of the only people that actually has both, and they are close to the configuration that I want (I believe your U2 is 600mm?). I am after either one in .30 cal 700mm. I prefer the looks and the calmer shot cycle of the U2, but really want to hit 120 fpe with the avs 62.5gr slugs. Do you think the U2 is capable of sending the 62.5’s @950 fps?
I am in the exact same boat as you Hankthetank75. I really prefer the look of the Uragan2, but I am seeing some reports of issues with the valve.

I ended up ordering a uragan 2 in .30 cal 700mm from Talon. It sounds like they have the valve issues all figured out. Just gotta make sure you get an updated one!

I shoot the AVS 61gr VUL slugs that were made for this gun and they are very accurate with my gun. I have the gun now where I can shoot these slugs and with a bit of scope tinkering mine shoots the FX 50.2g with great grouping. My average fps with the pellets are 952 and the gun is right at 100 FPS so I intend to use it for XFT (as well as my main coyote gun!).
Did you test AVS 60gr dish .3063 as well? The 60s actually grouped better for me at 960fps

Can't wait to test out my cast slugs in my Vulcan 3 .30 .. I have a .306 Accurate mold and sizing dies .304, .305 also .306..
The .306 is a bear to chamber but the .305 isn't bad and the velocity equals the .306.. As soon as I get my regulators back I will check them all out..
I really don't have any issues with the .3063 chambering. Maybe it's the lube I use? I should try them dry and see if it's worse.

U2 and V3 are 700mm, both similar "out-of-the-box" power. Chrono'd JSB 44.75s, U2@984FPS (95.8FPE), V3@986FPS (96.6FPE). Recent search for alternative to AVS .3063 slugs, for V3, due to forced loading and cost, so far, nothing matches accuracy. If unable to find accuracy in V3, without .3063 slugs, will reconfigure to lower power and try again. If I only owned a V3, this would stink since I wanted an airgun generating close to 100 FPE, without having to install the SA upgrade kit. U2, on the other hand, shoots ZANS (59 grain) and NSA 62.5s perfectly, JSB 44.75s decently, other slugs not far behind. If only allowed one, U2, all the way, AGTs balanced valve technology seems to resolve the issue facing the V3. Haven't chrono'd slugs but U2 and V3 generate same power, U2 just manages it better. WM
You say “U2, all the way, AGTs balanced valve technology seems to resolve the issue facing the V3.” What issue did the V3 face?

Issue with V3 is spelled out in thread narrative. Purchased both V3 and U2 in 700mm .30 within few months, U2 is quieter, smoother functioning and less ammo fussy than V3. Despite factory installed depinger, V3 produces loud clang when fired, not so with U2. Been a struggle finding ammo V3 shoots well since deciding force used to load AVS .3063 slugs was detrimental. U2's balanced valve provides accuracy with more pellet and slug varieties than V3, that's a fact. WM

Oh and post groups with trash .30. I tried too and it is garbage compared to 30063 as is velocity dropping because u aren't seated in barrel lol.
I found it the same as you. But no need to hassle the guy. He may have a quirk with the gun loading the wider slug. Now I felt the slug “cut in” when it was seated. But not too hard.
