Had issue with my valve and had to rebuild it its a JT3 the part of the valve where the knob is was the problem so i ordered the rebuild kit and the new piece was different anyone else had this problem ? my old on has an o ring grove the new one does not it came in friday and it was to late to contact them is all that it needs is an oring ?

Looks like the new valve has the o'ring groove up against the collar now. I would also call them again speak to Joe or Ricky and see if they can send you a new o'ring or give you the size/dimensions of it and type for you to replace yourself.

That’s what I thought but you would think it would have come in the rebuild kit

I put an Oring on it and tightened down and it hit about 500 psi on my tank and it blew out the new one doesn't have a recessed ring for the Oring to sit in if you look at the valve where the old o ring it has a grove cut out so the Oring is inside of the body it can't pop out I am curious what they will say when I call them guess Monday unless there off it would be Tuesday

For everyone that has never replaced one here is the guts, the second picture shows the nylon insert in the (brass piece) that wears when the handle is cranked down too hard and starts to leak. the guts can be bought from most dive shops cheaper than from JB fyi. If I remember right the main body to (loosen) is turning to the right as if your tightening because the treads are opposite of standard.

I didn’t know about the dive shop. The piece that disintegrated was the brass piece with the plastic insert. I called today and the guy I talked to said he didn't know but he would ask the boss and I heard Joe tell him it should seal with nothing it bottoms out if I didn't work they would do something else I switched guts and refilled the tank and its working I don't know if I am going to drain my tank and try it if it doesn't work I would have to put it back like I had no guts old sleeve.

Everything in Louisiana gets water I have a filter, and it gets no water, but the humidity is so high if I go outside and crank the valve open it comes out as a fog if I do it inside no fog when we are shooting our Wednesday match where you shoot about 100 pellets continuous the bottle on my crown looks like its leaking. Guess what I did what Brancato said I drained the tank, and it hits 500lbs trying to refill and was leaking they have no clue I am going to call them tomorrow again and see what they say my valve is probably 5 or 6 years old and the valve has changed design my guess

you can buy all the guts at a dive shop ?

That's what my dive shop guy told me, he said they were standard but will be seeing him in about two weeks so I'll check it out. If you have a dive shop close by, bring the valve with you. If I remember right the other two pieces is a spring with a groove in the brass piece to regulate the slow fill but it has been some time ago. I have seen those same parts online also.
BTW did you watch Joes video on the valve (opening the groove with a file to get a little faster fill ) I think it shows rebuilding the valve or taking it apart. So when you go to fill the tank around 500 psi the valve is leaking thru your foster fitting or line to your gun? From all the galvanic corrosion I see on those parts did you check the needle valve (the part that has the groove filed in it) maybe it's not seating closed because of corrosion. If it was me I'd also check the inside of that tank to see exactly what it looks like.

The fog is a result of adiabatic cooling, a gas going from a high pressure to a low pressure. It will do that even when the cylinders gas is 100% dry. It’s just the cold air causing the air to hit the dew point, resulting in the “fog”. It doesn’t mean your compressed gas is in fact dry, it’s just physics doing its thing.

Nope it was leaking where the main section in question was screwed into the valve, I knew it was going to leak but I did what they said to do. I took it back apart and replaced the new guts into the old whatever it's called with the Oring.

When I worked in a dive shop, some of the valves used a copper crush washer/gasket instead of an O ring design. The replacement one in photo appears to be the crush washer style.
