Umarex Shot the Gauntlet .177 (a true airgun value) & what clip might be made to fit it?

As we've at least 1 airgun over 20 years old (without a leak) and I simply do not shoot much anymore I have taken to just checking them every now and then.
Having trouble seeing seeing bulls after shot so moved it 3 clicks and a big mush (?) left at 50. Only fired 30 shots as it seemed just fine.
Silly umarex should have (kept &) promoted the .177 in FT ! Has to be the best entry level FT rig ever sold. The B50 was great but the gauntlet with reg, stock design and just enough weight to be stable at the Low introductory price darn sure would have sold if promoted even slightly. Nothing other than a light barrel clean and trigger adjustment. It really is my poor shooting -and hitting tall grass more than once-not the rifle showing., it will do better.
BUT The 10 shot clip is feeling a bit odd so I looked for a new one online and it seems to not be available? Anyone know is some other clip (marauder or...) might fit? Even with a little work?

One finger cocking and a great single stage trigger but too many budget gun haters & folks wanting RF power when it came out. Shame.
Did I miss clips for sale? Any help appreciated.

Hi John - yes, Carm magazines makes both a single shot loader and magazines for the Gauntlet. I have a Gauntlet .177 and have purchased both from Carm.

I installed the shorter shroud from Donny FL and polished up the trigger - installed a rudimentary 2-stage trigger from Hajimoto - otherwise my .177 Gauntlet is stock (still running stock regulator and hammer spring.

You must have a 12 ft/lb version as my “FAC” .177 has a very stiff bolt - using hard Crosman 10.5g it is a beast to cock.

As can be seen in the target below (.125” 10-ring), it shoots the “crazy Crosmans” amazingly well. I shot 30-Challenge cards of 196 198 197 back-to-back last summer (using a $500 target scope on my $195 Gauntlet, lol). It shoots the 10.5g Crosmans at 850fps.

It is non-adjustable currently, but I have Hajimoto’s “super tune” kit for it - which includes a hammer spring adjuster screw (requires drilling small hole in stock). When it eventually leaks, I’ll take it apart to fix leak and install hs adjuster at that time.

Accuracy is astounding for such a cheap PCP. It was my first PCP and I’m keeping it as a “barometer” as to how much I’m spending on rifles for this hobby vs. how much additional accuracy I’m getting for those additional dollars spent, lol.

The 177 Gauntlet was my first PCP that I pumped up by hand. Things have come a long way since then with two Daystates, a Wolverine R and a Red Wolf.

One of the biggest problems with the original Gauntlets was the POI shift with just a slight bump of the barrel. There were a number of methods used to correct for this, I had one of my own by adding steel flat stock from the receiver to the barrel shroud.

With Hajimoto's videos and guidance, I also did a bunch more mods that I honestly forgot what they were, but it did make it a better overall shooting gun.

It may go for weeks now without getting touched and it hasn't leaked a drop since it was new. I keep it for sentimental value and as a reminder that $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is not always the only answer.

I set up a .177 G1 for a friend and it was very accurate too. I love my original Gauntlet in .22 too. I have never had a poi shift either, probably because I have never banged the barrel. I stopped counting after 20k, how many pellets I've shot, always spot on, never loses air, and the regulator is just plain amazing. Never getting rid of it, that's for sure.

EPG, stock Overly heavy spring, full u.s. power and ton's of hammer bounce (always meant to fix that) but...). Being the same as a QB if cocking hard I would pull the bolt & roll it on glass. Fixed several QB's with a 2-1/2lb hammer w/popcicle stick under each end 1 smack to the high spot. Might be worth a look?
Great shooting, think I would enjoy such a target at that range so guess I'll need to print a bunch at the Library.


Springerrr, poi shift just isnt right. We have none ever and it rides in the back seat of the truck, on the floor being vacuumed & maybe gently stepped on, No pampering & no shift ever. As the barrel does not cover the receiver screw (like on a QB) 1st I'd just try HARD o-rings on the barrel and if needed skip o-rings and fill the grooves with epoxy just like the older daystate huntsman.

Everyone who mentioned the Carm mag thanks! And Steve your recommendation made me go look again. I had been to their page but only under umarex (a couple of odd parts period) but sure enough under clips they say something like Marauder/Gantlet/something. Which makes me think a marauder clip might work but I would rather but just one good one than several others.

(edit meant to add trigger mod just in case) Personally cant stand the trigger blade on a spring "two stage" -swapped the one on our old 2278 out-. The trigger mod worth doing for many is the spring plunger mod. Well worth a few dollars and as close to a two-stage you can make a gauntlet/QB .

I did polish the two mating surfaces but seem to me the alignment between is just not good enough to get a smooth travel and release. Any other brand trigger co
