FX Any tips for getting this sealed

1725818840081.png

Tried 5 times now. First I couple of tredo (rubber -steel washer) from work. Didnt seal.
used seal with loctite thread sealing = didnt work
Bought 3 washers directly from FX to be sure it was the exact same type+ loctite thread seal and let it rest for 24h for the loctite to react. Didnt work

Should there be thread tape or something. Also the inner thin lip on the tredo always breaks. Even when greasing it before it breaks.
But I also know that lip isnt importand for sealing. Its the outer lips that seals.

I have looked at the bottle adapter with microscope and it looks fine. No scraches or cracks.

What am I doing wrong. Is this a known problen so there is an upgraded adapter on newer models with oter type of sealing or something?

The gun is a Impact MK1

I feel your pain. This is exactly what started me down the rabbit hole of chasing leaks on my MKII. Making sure all sealing surfaces are good, no scratches or foreign material, is the place to start. I also cleaned all parts with 70% alcohol and q-tip just making sure nothing else was causing issues. Good luck and remember to enjoy the journey.

Hi

You need to check the screw in brass adapter that has a o-ring behind the bottle connecter. Should be 2,2x1 70nbr
Got the same tip from others. I completely missed this. Was so focused on the tube adapter because that was what I was working on.
Have not tested with new oring yet. But the 2x1 oring around the brass plug was deformed and slightly extruded.

Difficult to troubleshoot when several leakages occur at once. Seems like the gun is falling apart after latest regulator fix. Now orings are leaking everywere once gun has been without pressure for a while

To be honest, the reg is probably the hardest part of the gun to work on. Even on a recent re-seal I always replace any 'o' rings I come across as a matter of routine. I am just building another Impact from parts and have pulled it down to every component part that has an "o" ring....it's cheap insurance. That dowty washer is probably one of the only ones I have rarely replaced. Having gone to the effort of finding thr correct size, I probably have 49 of the 50 I bought still in the box.

Yeeeees, Now its tight.

It wasn't the washer. It was the Ø2x1 oring for the brass cavity bore plug underneath.

As soon as I replaced it it stopped leaking...........from the tube. But found yet another leakage so I hosed the gun with GL4 leakage spray.
and the other Ø2x1 oring for the plug on the back side of the pistol grip was also leaking. luckily I bought 4 orings.

Both 2x1 orings and also the cavity oring in the regulator The difficult bastard deep down. All of them were hard like sun burnt plastic. Had to crush them to remove. They never become like that in hydraulics ........I'm guessing hydrolys occurs with high air pressure and age.

Probably going to find more similar in the future on the pressure side before regulator
This was my third regulator service, even distributed since 2017. first two times it was extrusion of the valve piston seal. And this last one was aging of the cavity oring (didnt change that bastard the first two times)

Also my pump broke exactly the same time. Its difficult to troubleshoot when 3things occurs at the same time. I almost thougt I had become retarded or something

Thanks from Sweden

Before the setup was 100bar and 850fps.
Now I think Im gonna tune it to same speed because that was the sweet spot, but this time with 115-125 bar and less hammer
