Western Airguns How have Western sidewinders been holding up

They seem to be working well. Not too many forum posts, proportional to production/sales, about them breaking down. They're accurate and pretty decent amount of power, and made in the USA (with globally sourced parts). I'd not hesitate to get one; the more that are bought, the more successful Western becomes and more models and improvements to come with that success.

Mine has held up well. No issues to report and is very accurate when compared to my other big bores.

A friend of mine has a SW .25. Punched a lot of holes in paper and many squirrels, rabbits and wood chucks. No issues at all with the gun. One thing tho. He bought two extra magazines. When he used them, his FPS was a lot different a than the original and they would blow a little puff of air on his cheek. When we measured the mags ,the mag cover(?) for the replacements was a different thickness. He gave his original mag cover measurement to AOA, they sent him two that matched and it’s been rock solid. It’s a blast to shoot.

I do not have any complain with my .25 and .30

Sidewinders are excellent hunting rifles with A LOT of advantage being semi's.

They are comfortable and first shot after filling or after a lot of time of inactivity hit in the right place.

They are powerful.

They are not the kind of rifle you would try to use to make a shot to kill a fly at 100 yards.... For that purpose you have the Daystate with electronics: super smooth and with electronic trigger.

I have made shots father away a 100 yards easily with my sidewinders.... But they are not made for bench rest.

I have the mini .30. Stock, it sounded like a cannon and I put a lot of effort into quieting it down. However, it’s been trouble free for 7months and 1000s of rounds. The full auto is an absurd novelty that I never use but in semi, it performs very well. I have it tuned to shoot 44 grain pellets at 860fps and it will mash the pellets together at 50y. As Emu states, it has no first shot blues and the mini is a very solid and compact rig for use in the field.

No problems with my standard Sisewinder in .30. Not too loud with a Huggett Magna. Accuracy is outstanding.
