Competing for $$ (gambling)

Not so when I go out with the boys shooting firearms, never for money as that causes other issues.

I'm a cocky a$$ on ice playing hockey though, I enjoy getting into people's heads. I'm 62 years old (used to be an elite player) and these young punks call me grandpa. I'm smart and am blessed to still be able to light er up!

HAHAHA just made me think of all the times i am 78 but still thinking 40 when taking on a project .

Done all three.

2023 Oregon State FT championships/Grand Prix (my first) gave out prize money.

Got into a shooting match once with a guy to see who could be first to whack a shotgun shell off hand at 50 yds. with a springer. I did and he said "Winner Winner Chicken Dinner". Still waiting on that prize.......

Otherwise we seriously shoot for fun (oxymoron?)

I noticed that too. Not sure why the OP is giving people the thumbs down for responding. @boresnake the thumbs down you are giving people is actually dinging their accounts if you're not aware.

Maybe I just earned myself a down vote from him as well :ROFLMAO:

Oh Geesh. I didn’t realize it was the OP doing it. Even more perplexing. Lol

When I shot trap all the time before everyone lost their minds over a flu we had "Chicken Shoots". Start at the 16 yard line and keep going backwards until some misses. My best shot was 10 yards into the parking lot so figure a 40 yard handicap! One of the best "Winner winner chicken dinner" shots I have ever made with a cheap trap load. Hard to beat a BT-99. Mr. Browning was a genious.

It's always a thrill when you're in the zone, but keeping things balanced is essential. Setting a budget beforehand helps keep the fun in it and prevents things from getting out of hand. Also, it's good to remember that gambling should be more about entertainment than making money. I do not.

With everything i have ever done, as soon as the element of head 2 head competition kick in, my performance drop by 25% or so, and i have never been that good with the things i have done.

Okay with table tennis, 3 cushion billiards and Darts, i was never a walk over..
Shooting, well i did do that as a kid for a few years, but not really competitive, though i did become #4 in the club championship in 200 M rifle,,,,,, but only 4 in my age group, which i assume was kids U16 or something, and i was like 11-12 years old at the time.
Not many kids shooting 15 or 50 M rim fire, and even fewer in the club shooting 200 M,,,,, and i can understand the 7.92 mm rifles did have a kick VS the rimfire rifles.

When the guys stop over to shoot not long before the kyl target become center of attention. All hell break loose a beer $ on the table. Nice friendly competition. I then sneak out the AZ tuned Rapid mk ll .20 cal with full shroud shooting jsb 15.9 heavy @ 900 and stock my frig with brewery's. Lol
