HW/Weihrauch HW barrels

Maybe both.. I think it's heat shrunk

You heat the block to expand the hole then push the barrel in and tighten that nut (??) then the block shrinks as it cools and puts a death grip on the barrel. (???)

Also there's a thread here somewhere a guy was talking that up but never confessed to the full details .. when you asked he claimed up ..

So was he full of #### or selfish in telling .. ijdk

From what I have heard over years, it is very hard to remove an HW springer barrel and save it.
The later barrels with the proprietary star nut are knurled and press fit like the older models. The star nut is only a fancy replacement of the earlier cross pin retainer. Both are secondary retension systems. The press fit is really enough on it's own.

The old ones are full pressed 16 mm barrels micro knurled with a cross pin ,
NO ADHEASIVEI. Easy to remove. I’ve used many Hw barrels on other guns.

THE NEW STAR nut is just that a special nut that is threaded onto a stepped inleted breech block and the nut creates the seal seat area.. I’ve taken a few apart but had to make a special tool and it’s not a profitable deal
