Moly and / or Graphite WILL NOT stay suspended in an oil, they require a grease / paste to hold them in solution.
I have noticed that and I shake my bottle before dispensing.

When you said "Piston bore and behind seal my proprietary moly/graphite/oil blend, as well within tube at piston skirt to bore", I was thinking you might be using a silicone (non flammable, non-petroleum) based oil as a vehicle for your compression chamber lube, not for metal-on-metal load bearing applications.

Nope ... as lubricants migrate especially in the area of piston moving back and forth. Within the swept volume of where the piston seal is in contact only a burnished in film of the moly/graphite becomes present, being not enough to create any dieseling. If seal fit is correct there will be little too no lube migrating forward. This is why I don't prelube the tube letting the lube put around seal at installation lay down a film on the compression area wall with some use. Lube put in behind piston once installed and full forward. Cycling of action distributes it.
 
We need more of the classics in the business to pass on their knowledge or alot of it will end with them. Not like there is a growing apprenticeship program of airsmithers and tuners who have the old school knowledge. You working on a book Scott so you can hand down your expertise and make a little money when you retire?

Lol ... been formally retired since 2017, now semi retiring the AG part of it.

No book, as there is already bunches & bunches of such info already out there.

What grit hone do you use? Looking at ordering and they have 240 and 320 in the 1.25" variety. Guess the idea is to knock down the burrs and give the lube something to hold on to.
A broken in & use worn 240 gives the finish of a newer 320
Ball hones when new are no different than sand paper in a sense, new they bite like hell, lightly used they become more uniform.

In light of this ... suggest 320 ;)

May I ask why you choose an ARH seal over the seemingly ubiquitous Vortek?
tube sizes do vary a bit and as such ARH knows this and provides most of there seals slightly on the larger side. As such most require a bit of sizing to establish an "Ideal" fit. I've found the VT seals are more average to tube sizes and generally don't require sizing .. tho if on the larger tube tolerance we see time to time, there seal is not usable as it is already too small :cry:
