mailed a scope in . think the old scope was just worn out ? could not get it to zero any way i tried to count clicks . sent it in late Saturday at the post office they got it Tuesday AM and Thursday (today ) i am looking at a new scope 4x16x 40 SFP this one has side focus the one i sent had front focus parallax .
I mean third day and i have my NEW scope back , WOW !

mine was old , used on several guns . i just could not get it back to optical center . tried several different ways .
The other one i sent in i bought at a gun show used and broken for $25 , this was the first Athlon i bought broken to use as a spotting scope , didnt need the broken turrets so i brought it home , worked fine for a spotting target scope . Then i looked Athlon up on line and saw the Warrantee . sent it in and 4 days later had a brand new scope . ($599 list price ) , this scope has lived on 4 different springers , shot heavily for the last severall years .
YES i am sold on Athlon scopes .
EDIT: should read this is the first Athlon i bought . yes it was broken but the guy said it was .

A 2-15x50 stopped holding zero. A 4.5-27x50 developed an issue in the turrets where the clicking was uneven. I also questioned whether there was an issue with the clarity of the scope. The replacement scope had perfect turrets, but the same [fair] clarity 🫤. I think this scope is just kind of a dud in the ARES line.
