Did a little better this AM -

Got a new valve from Mathew at JSAR, and swapped to a Hill lightweight hammer. The gun is quieter now, seems to be more efficient? Was able to sight her in in 4 shots.

This bottle build is a little more awkward in the field, just because I haven't figured out how to install a sling yet, but have an idea.

Got both of these bogies by 7:30, was batting 1000 till I moved to another spot and had two clean misses. SHUX!

Shooting 18.1 FX pellets @900 or so. Both dropped like a rock, DRT!

Nice shooting Steve. I got two yesterday and they are in the cooking pot right now.

That's what I'm talking about fellas. I knew there were some hunters left on AGN.

@SteveV Nicely done and that's an interesting looking build. for a M-Rod. Does the short tube in the front still hold air or is it solely fed by the bottle? Hey, hits and misses - it sounds like hunting to me.
Thanks breaux! It's actually a P-Rod with a M-Rod barrel, and yes, the tube is pressurized, so I'm thinking in AGN parlance, it's also a PLENUM?

The JSAR valve is really sweet for a balanced valve, because it does respond to different hs settings, unlike a Cothran valve, which in my experience is on or off, with power being controlled by fill pressure and transfer port size. Not knocking the Cothran valve, but I am digging the JSAR valve, plus I'm not aware of any other aftermarket valve for the Marauder Pistol. Please pardon my wordy response.

@SteveV I think I get it. I wouldn't have thought that was Prod though. What sort of velocity range are you getting out of that build?

Well, with the light weight hammer and no hs pre load and a stock hammer spring, the velocity started at 650 fps, but with maybe 3.5 turns of the adjustment grub it jumed up to almost 930 fps with the 18.1 grainers. I backed off a little and it was showing between 897 to 910 or so.

With a stock striker it starts out quite a bit faster, mid 800's, but using more air. But the Hill striker combined with the JSAR valve is very quiet. Me like!!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the 4500 psi bottle is regged at 2200 psi, and after this mornings hunt, and plinking the rest of the mag (9 shots total) the bottle still shows approximately 4200 psi!

EDIT #2: I forgot to mention, I always replace the stock transfer port with ice maker poly tube, available at Loews or Home Depot. If you haven't tried this trick, I guarantee you'll like the results.

Thanks Doc - It's just a 15 ci, paintball thread spec but it is 4500 psi rated. I bought it from a paintball place in the UK as at the time they weren't yet DOT approved here in the states. I actually have two of them, the other one is on my Cothran bottle build. The larger metric spec bottles wouldn't work with the drop block and the standard breech height.

EDIT : 15 cubic inch
