O rings installation tool

Hello all. What tools or gadgets do you guys use to install these very tiny o rings such as for regulators. I had to replace some o ring in a regulator about a year ago and those damn things are a pain. I got it on eventually after tearing up two and its all good now. So just wondering if you guys use anything that would make replacing these tiny o rings easier.

Yup, before I found those.... actually, I was just too cheap and in a hurry..

Yes, it is part of pen. And that's a part of a regulator.

nylon dental type tools/picks work great but some of them are weak, so a set of metal ones is good. You can get them at Amazon, harbor freight, or dentalsuppy stores.
Softer brass tool/picks! Steel will scratch the reg and cause leaks and creeping. Most of the nylon picks are too soft, IMO.

I like quality and specialty micro tools, actually all my tools are in higher scale starting from my garage and all the way to my basement mans cave.
Couple years ago I picked up a nice "nylon dental type tools/picks" set in a Trade Show, from orings supplier stand.
I never needed more so I never ordered any extra from them, but I would assume any dedicated orings suppliers may have tools solutions for you if you ask them.

How cool is that. I'm a retired dental rep. and I have a set of those O ring tools. Mine came from RPI a couple decades ago. They are somewhat proud of the darn things. Back when I was with a dental manufacturer we made those tools in our machine shop for miniature valve assembly. Can likely find similar or Amazon and Ebay W/O paying the "dental tax" be sure to use O ring lube on the tool, I like Parker Super O lube, it is Silicone based, good stuff. Firewalker, you are Minn i dam sota :) We may know each other...or have mutual friends.

No luck on Amazon
But there are a number of sellers on eBay
With prices varying very widely

Yup nothing much on Amazon. The small ones from DCI on ebay are pretty reasonable tho prices vary like crazy. You can get the retail pricing @ dcionline.com prolly 59.95 for the three tool set. That's the dental tax I mentioned earlier, Dentistry is never cheap, neither is the stuff for dentistry. I recall paying about 50 bucks for my set I bought thirty years ago from RPI another dental parts vendor.
I did see some Polycarbonate picks on Amazon that looked very useful. The tools are great when you have parts with multiple O-ring grooves.

Good thinkin! You will need to be cautious to not overstretch the O-ring. Great idea!! Lots of different sizes available tho it may take a little looking around. Heck as costly as the tools are, one could buy and throw away the product just to get the right size "spout" Put a light film of Super O lube or Silicone paste lube on the tool prior to use.
Mostly the O-ring tools like this are useful for items with multiple O-rings on the valve stem. They are equally useful for the little tiny guys. Much easier to handle that way.
