On, Canada
I took 2 sets of rifles HW30 and HW50 in both .20 cal. and .22 cal. All four rifles were never opened.

I also used the same grain rounds both new tins, 15.89’s.

I didn’t have a ton of time so each rifle was only average of 5 rounds.
‘First up HW30 .22 cal. Average 451 fps. This gun is super accurate. High 456 Low 447.

Next of course the 30 .20 and average 418 fps. High 422 Low 413
IMG_0074.jpeg
Up next a latest edition HW50 .22 cal. Average 593 fps. High 598 Low 587

Last up HW50 .20 Average 546 fps. High 551 Low 540.

I tried the HW45 in both cal but the crony would not register the pistols.
Just remembered I have the R9 and HW95 in both cal. untouched. I’ll run them tomorrow.
Same guns, different bore, same grain round. Different results. Interesting. Crow
Happy Thanksgiving

You will see that at equal weight with all springers. the 22 will be more efficient given the barrel has the right fit.
.20 is not some type of magic pellet that it was pushed to be, what it does have is a tighter barrel in the HW brand then the .22 for most ammo available.
The HW .22 barrels seem to like the larger dia pellets.

Interesting that the 20’s shot slower than the 22’s.
I hear you. CrowThat's why the .20 isn't worth it.
.20 myth busted! Again
I don’t know if it’s a fair comparison.
I probably have three times more .22 cal. than .20 cal. I find the .20 amazing. Crow

Initially you would think they might be close to the same. But the two really are different. Crow
Lol
Try shooting a 15.89 in a .177!
Or a 18 grain in a 22. Crow

It may be better to compare the same pellet types.
The Heavy's are a tad less accurate in my 97 and apx 20 - 25 clicks lower at 75 yards than the 13.73's.

Hang on to your seats. Today I did the same with a HW95 and R9. No modifications.
This is the average for the HW95 .20. Love this gun.

Up next the 95 .22 cal.

Go figure. I have no explanation.
Next R9 .20. I thought this rifle had a Vortek spring. But my book says no. 608 fps
IMG_0079.jpeg
95 .22 again slower than the .20.

Have the 97’s in both but I know the .20 cal. has a Vortek spring.
Again I have no explanation but a 180 from the lower power rifles. Crow

The bores are different sized. You can't expect similar results because the pellets are similar weights. I told you over a year ago the 20 cal 15.89 JSBs are usually a dog in the Weihrauchs. I'm shocked they did as well as they did in the 95. Then again you're comparing them to 22 cal JSBs that are not usually a good pellet for power in Weihrauchs. Neither are making proper power, 20 cal at 636 is 14.27fpe and the 22 at 619 is 13.52. A proper 95 with a good pellet for it should make 16fpe in 20 cal and 17 in 22. JSB pellets can have great accuracy in 20 and 22 Weihrauchs but they're not great for making power.

Run 20 cal 13.73 JSB against the 15.89 22 JSBs if you want a fair comparison between rifles.

The 22 50 is making very good power for that pellet.
