Daisy Inop 880

I recently picked up this Daisy 880, cheap, as you see it. Unfortunately it will not pump. It had been stored for quite some time according to the coat of dust. I put some oil on the pump, but still no pump. The gun looks like new evidently not having had rough treatment.

Mine was ony $35 new and it works.

Serious question though, Have any of them simply been overpumped into valve lock? I did that to my 362 when I had it out ready for a pest. Pulled it apart and used a press to squeeze the valve a vent the pressure.
Ive never heard of that. I would like to see exactly what it is that happens.

Just like a PCP, if there is too much air pressure pumped in, the hammer doesn't have enough energy to open the valve. On my 362, I had left it pumped and loaded for a couple days. When the intended target reappeared, I grabbed it and pumped it 8 times without thinkin. Opened the bolt and realized it was already cocked. When I tried to fire it, just click of the hammer dropping. Cocked it and tried several times. Disassembly of those is easy, just like a Discovery or 1377. The plastic clamshell styles can be a bit tricky. Good luck.
