AEA Bintac T9

I will consider the option to lock the bolt back after the last shot. It can technically do that already, if not for those two little ridges I added near the front. They stop the follower from moving all the way forward and into the hole.

My biggest concern here is longevity. There is a LOT of force behind that bolt, and the probe is quite sharp too. The current materials I am using for the prototypes are not strong enough and will definitely break after a few hits. However, the final retail version will be made from stronger materials (most-likely nylon). And for the follower I am considering a more flexible material to absorb the impact.

I will have to test this though, and see how well it can handle that force. I want these mags to last for a long time. Not break after a few months of use.

Oh alright thanks for the info can't wait to see where all this goes.

Welp, it seems my T9 is no good. Im not sure what the problem is, but both the factory mags and my own mags have been jamming like crazy. I was hoping my mags would be able to fix the issue, since it's linear movement instead of rotary. But it seems that no matter what, the mags just can't keep up with the speed of the bolt. It keeps hitting the pellets on the side of the skirt as opposed to dead center. I've seen this complaint quite a lot, but not everyone seems to have this problem.

Either my bolt spring is too weak or too strong, or something else is amiss. But it's been a consistent issue. Fill pressure doesn't make a difference. It jams at both high and lower pressures. And it happens at least once per mag. Until I can get a fix for this I won't be able to work on my mags for a while. I need a T9 that operates properly in order to perfrom tests.

What a letdown... Bin really needs to get his poop together.

Same issues but it mostly happens when I use Hades.

Yeah the loctite glue in this gun is total crap. My entire bolt assembly came loose after a few days of shooting it. I had to dissasemble the whole bolt and apply teflon tape to each screw. It holds firm now, but it is ridiculous that they released it in this state.

Day by day I'm feeling more convinced that this gun was a total waste of money. So many hiccups and errors... They really should have spent more time testing and refining it. But of course they had to slap another new model on the market as fast as possible. If I can get mine fixed I might just sell it afterwards.

How I feel really wish I got the Megalodon tbh. But I wanted a semi-auto for cheap but it seems I'll have to wait longer for a cheaper semi auto that's reliable.

Hey folks! So I think I figured out what's wrong with the T9 (at least with mine). As Ach3r0n already alluded to... It's the moderator.
I sent mine back to the shop for inspection and they were not able to replicate the problem. They shot dozens of magazines without issue, so they sent it back a few days later. Thing is, I sent it back without the moderator because I also use it for a diferent airgun.

I immediately tested it without the moderator and it worked flawlessly. Even my own custom mags ran smoothly. I tried again, this time with my Yokozuna attached and sure enough... it jammed within the first couple of shots. I took it off again, and shot the rest of my mags without issue again. My guess is that the moderator creates too much back-pressure inside the chamber, causing the bolt to cycle too aggressively.

I also heard that the gun has issues cycling heavier ammo, which I think is part of the same problem. Too much pressure.

So yeah.... the T9 apparantly does not like supressors. Which is a bit of a shame because the T9 is LOUD as hell. I won't be able to shoot this thing in my garage too often. My neighbors will eventually think there's a war going on xD

Maybe there's a moderator out there that doesn't mess with the semi-auto action, or some other solution can be found. But that would require further testing/tinkering. As it stands, the Ronin and Yokozuna are definitely a no-go.

Interesting. Mine doesn't have one but it just hates Hades and Aea center punch pellet skirts being short but shots Hatsan Strikes .35 perfect with their hollow skirts every time as does Fx hybrid slugs so ammo I believe also plays a role in this phenomenon as well. But glad your issue seems to be resolved. :)

Im shooting Hybrids too. They run flawlessly. Hades have indeed caused problems in the past, but in my case it could be because of the moderator. I'd have to test that.

Projectile weight and shape do seems to be a factor as well. Hybrids are light, so the pressure build-up will be lower.

The only solution I can think of in terms of the moderator issue is to somehow slow the bolt down just a little bit. Or give it some more travel time. That way it won't come back too fast for the magazine to keep up. But for now Im happy I can at least shoot it reliably. The many misfeeds really became demoralizing.

Gotcha well I'm glad yours is working better.
