As fall approaches ,I find myself less aggressive on taking the big Fox squirrels. They are scowering for food to prep for torpor. I find it provides me with a robust fresh group that make it through the Winter for spring breeding .. I refuse to not shoot the Reds/ Pine squirrels as they are active year round and are very damaging to my location..

This one walked out on that lone branch and we locked eyes.. I gave him a nod,and on he went.

We have blacks here too. They are a totally different acting animal.. They use the trees less and are early morning dusk walkers and late at night. Both fist and last seen.. A lot like the grays. Actually less timid it seems you can stalk them without them scuttling up a tree.

Yep, this one just keeps sitting there eating and looking for food while I drop the squirrels around him.

it is $1000.00 fine to kill and a $5000 to trap or remove . This is Ky .some people believe a "Tar and Feathering" is still a good deterrent

I have one lone squirrel runs through my yard every day, I just watch him eating the pinecones and acorns.
