What do you like to unscrew gauges with?

I know it's not the best but a short adjustable wrench there usually not very tight to seal or loosen as long as your carefull it works otherwise a socket if I have one

I strongly suggest using a 1 inch socket made for removing gauges.

It leaves zero marks even on brass gauges.

Most of the time if installed correctly with X ring you can just unscrew with your hand if BSP threads. Gauges that seal on the threads - NPT - require a socket that fits the gauge. You can use a wrench, but sockets work better and don’t mark the finish.

I. Have used a small strap wrench with a rubber type strap. But usually just by hand.

I use a good quality medium sized Cresent wrench, it works and doesn't scratch the surface.

This piece of tool is the best there is for the job.
The jaws are totaly flat and open and close paralel, so no change of damaging the gauge.
A great tool for the delicate Jobs.

I printed a gague socket on my 3D printer to use with a small rachet and have yet to find one the couldn't be removed with ease.

There are soft plastic inserts for the jaws to make them non marring too.

If you look carefully on Amazon, you will find the Knipex 86 03 180 pliers including 3 pair of soft inserts for the same price as the pliers alone

You're welcome and...I didn't know one could purchase that combo! That is awesome thanks for that info! I purchased a set of 3 separately.

Think we are over thinking…lol. Just a small crescent wrench found anywhere. They shouldn’t be that tight.

All 1” gauges uses a 15/16 6 point socket.

For us without a printer and in my case, zero desire to get into it...and a less than zero space for one, it's way easier and cheaper to send someone some money and let them do it. Buddy ol' PAL.

Oh heck they are CHEAP, The AnkerMake M5c looks cool.....oh oh I'm sensing trouble coming.
