Hand pumps

Like rdtricks said above, my no brand chinese amazon (was $30 many years ago) hand pump works as good as my Hill.
Glad to know.
Ive been burned many times by buying cheap. Inferior products always either underperform or break altogether.
I’m seeing $69 - $200+ ……….
Any suggestion on a good cheapo?

i’ve had very good experiences with the four uncles pump. 70$ on amazon. any problems and they send you a new one. ive had mine over a year now

"Backup" so you have something, nice.
Have a 9-10 year old "Vevor" (black in color) still going strong, still have the rebuild kit it came with.
Naturally QC can change but having purchased the 1st hill (pos ! but they did improve) when released - freedom from suba tanks amazing. Owned the 1st & second FX pumps. Had a benjamin for 1 day, awful .

Paid something like $59 for the Vevor and it is smoother and easier to use than any of the others. Does seem to take a few more strokes on big bottles from empty. 500cc Blue FX 500 strokes even, vevor 500cc 540 or so stokes. (not counting refilling the hose after bleeding & cool down) but if you have some air in your rig lot's less pumping.
It is said all the pumps as many airguns (think snowpaek) are made in 1 or 2 factories then re-labed for whomever.

Neighbor got one (something Silver you were supposed to poor water into the tube for cooling) which was HARD to use days 1 and honked. Used about twice before he showed up. We took it apart in minutes and fairly well NO dry dry dry seals/0-roings. Proper lubing w/out changing anything & put back together and he has used in several times a week for several years.
Naturally lot's of hand pump posts here: https://www.airgunnation.com/forums/tanks-pumps-compressors.23287/

Remember TECHNIQUE and you'll likely have no issues with the value (correctly) priced units.

What is you other air source?

I went with the Huben because it's about half as heavy as anything else out there and it pumps up to 5000 psi. Those final pumps at 5000 psi take nearly all of my 220 lbs to compress though.

So far I've been very impressed by everything Huben makes. I'm not a big fan of "made in China" at all, but they're working hard to change my mind on that.

I only use a hand pump to refill my guns, so I use mine a lot! I had a Hill MKIII for many years. I rebuilt it many times before I managed to bugger it up during a rebuild. I replaced it with a GX hand pump about 3 years ago. It's a little more expensive than most of what gets recommended around here, but way cheaper than my Hill was. So far I have not needed to rebuild it once. I'd say I had rebuilt the Hill at least 3 times in the first 3 years I had it.

The cheapest China one on Amazon, eBay, etc that you can find. The lower tier ones are all basically the same and work just as well. Awesome buys. I always used to hate buying all this China stuff but it’s impossible not too and it’s getting better and better everyday. I just bought a China copy of the Blue Parrot Bluetooth headset model 450 (150-160 dollars) for 40 bucks. Quality and function seem equal in every way. Scary they can do that.

Like @Sawney Bean said, the Huben hand pump is awesome. Excellent design and easy to pump past 250 BAR. Perfect for hunting or SHTF.

When I weighed mine it was something like 2.25 lbs. Now that was with a bathroom scale, so it definitely wasn’t precise, but it is noticeably much lighter than any other hand pump I have seen. I’ve been trying to come up with the best backpacking/camping airgun for awhile now and a lightweight pump makes it possible to use a PCP in that role.

Check out the Crosman 3622. The rifle weighs nothing with a steel breech. 25 shots and only a 2k psi fill. Pretty damn accurate with CPHP's and open sites. Supposed to be super easy to replace o-rings. Lightest PCP next to my HW44.

USA manufacturing and other countries for that matter that have a large manufacturing base.
Just look at Harbor Freight tools for an example of how far the Chinese manufacturer's have come in initial product quality over the past 5 years especially. All must continuously up their game quality wise, while holding down the cost. Very tough to do. China manufacturer's are struggling as well, the low wage workers are not as low wage these days.
The key is fair competition and a level playing field. If the US manufacturer has a UL listing on their product, that listing costs many thousands to get and thousands more to keep. Fake holographic UL clearance stickers are quite cheap.
