Bench rest target in ft position

Searched a little bit on the forum and have not found anything related to this but just something I have been trying.. It is always a question to myself on further targets if I miss if it was a wind call or down to me just not doing everything right and consistent on my shot. So I been shooting a few cards of the 25 meter bench rest targets at 25 yards in the ft position. My best score was a 231 with my tx. Has anyone ever done this? Maybe others have already done this and score way better regularly. I found it’s a decent way to practice and try to improve.

maybe bench rest one and FT one to compare. That would give you a good test to see the accuracy of the gun...BTW I think a 231 is great!

I shoot similar targets in the back yard. I'm not a FT shooter, but I generally shoot seated on the bottom step of my deck, using a bipod shooting stick, so I guess it's similar to your practice. Although I don't compete in FT, I believe that anytime you practice with a certain discipline of purpose, it has to be a benefit. I also shoot from the same position at small targets in a tree at 30 yards, usually bottle caps. Since they can be placed at various heights, I suppose that would also be good FT practice. Luckily, I have a dead tree at an appropriate location to serve as my backstop. Scoring your BR target is a good way to judge performance and progress. Seems to me it has to be a worthwhile practice routine.

Yes I have and I’m developing a whole new shooting game with it
You still shoot as before with Bucket or bum bag and sticks or forced position lanes standing or kneeling

Intriguing, tell us more (maybe in a new thread)
I’ve posted this in another thread but I’m on the road for a long while… search redesign field target ?

Basically you set these targets out 6 per lane = 3 per shooter for every lane
Near
Medium
Far distance

Paper cards are pre marked with shooters names /. Distance / lane numbers

A hot line is called when all lanes are set

Shots = one per target, are taken by squad members.

Upon completion of lane, the cold line is called for all and targets are retrieved

New targets are placed as you approach your new lane

Repeat

At end all score cards are gathered and scored as you would with bench rest.

Although all targets have a 2” 1/8” KZ the level of accuracy is determined numerically!

Actually without the time to set up and break down courses and strings and target failures this can move faster than a traditional FT game and a huge benefit is less cost and reduced maintenance

I'm wondering the same thing. I guess it's like a junior high school clique. You and I must not be cool enough for 'em.

Sometimes people don’t get back to AGN for days/weeks - life happens.
I’d not take it personally-as we don’t know what goes on in other people’s lives.

Sorry guys. I didn't mean to offend anyone. My 10-year-old granddaughter was going on about clique stuff like that a little while before I posted. I was just having a silly junior high school flash-back moment -- now I'm getting ready to watch her 2nd basketball game that my wife recorded an hour ago. Fingers crossed that my wife didn't accidentally turn off the image stabilization function -- she loves to zoom in at the full 20x magnification.
