What do you like to unscrew gauges with?

I use a socket if it has the flats on the exterior. If no flats, then I ground-down an open-end wrench enough to fit between the gauge bottom and the area that it threads into....although I agree that they should be hand-tight, they sometimes are NOT!

One 28mm. The only size gauges i have or purchased are 28mm not counting the big ones used on tanks and such. What size are you looking for?

Get a small piece of leather, (not the soft nappa, but the sturdier type used for straps etc.) put it halfway around the gauge and use an adjustable wrench. Then Bob's your uncle!
