2024 EBR was the very best shoot I’ve personally ever attended. If been to many other competitions and airgun events around the world. Now EBR wasn’t the largest, but my personal favorite. Giving me the opportunity to enjoy airguns while competing with other of like minded and interest people.
I loved the home town feel I get from the over worked people who put this event together. I know it’s a labor of love for all of them. You see it in the way each of them take ownership over different aspects of the shoot.
I watched Kep run around pulling his hair out while the largest big bore event ever to happen at EBR under his watchful eye.
I noticed Laren measuring and double checking the animal plates on the field target course. Pulling in favors from everyone she knows, including her brother who flys in from South Africa to help and support her.
Jared took time from his busy schedule to run the speed events. Answering all the questions about all the different rules and classes helping keep everybody in the class that they wanted to be at the last minute, even with the changes the event was wonderfully organized.
Everyone that attended as a shooter got to talk to Daren. Daren must have one of biggest jobs at EBR. He was the guy who handled registration, changes, raffles, extra banquet tickets, answering questions, bench assignments and MC’ed the entire event.
This event pulls people from everywhere. Some of the people who I personally met were:
Rok, owner of RTI. Rok introduced me to his Mom, Dad, and his good friends Jacob and Gregor. All very nice people. They presented me with a wonderful gift of a RTI shooter shirt that made feel like one of the guys when I wore it.
Billy, the owner Skout Airguns. Billy took time from his busy schedule to explain to me how the multiple regulators on there guns work. And offering me an opportunity to try shooting one of there gun on the sight in range. Did you know there gun as an option of a release trigger? Not pull like every other gun, I’m saying “release”. Yes, no flinching or over pulling to the side any more.
Oh my, I have to mention Hawke optics. (I’m terrible with names) In the last minute I ran into the venders building and asked to barrow his display cell phone scope mount system. Because I wanted to use it in the speed finals to film the event from a shooters point of view. Yep he loned it to me. And I forgot it at the Airbnb. But what great people.
The list go on, Bintac was there. Show casing some of his new guns and great ideas. Bintac is working with Wolfiek group and bring a new 7mm to are market.
Francisco of Wolfiek group took the time to ask my personal opinion about this project. Allowing me to hold and look down the sights for a complete experience.
The vender building was full, Benjamin, Sighton, Žan slugs, Daystate I talked to all of them. Everyone gave me some of the best time of there day.
I even got the opportunity to talk with Robert Buchanan and his wife. His wife by the way was in the vendor building giving out little treats and running a giveaway for a lady’s watch all week.
Now, I don’t want to forget about anyone person. It takes an army to run an event like this. There more key players like Greg, Chris, Londen, Tom(tomcat), etc . if I’ve forgotten to mention you, I really appreciate you. I’m truly grateful for your work and hard effort.
And, don’t forget Todd. The guy who must get pay a bucket of money. To sit by the compressor all week and fill tanks. He must have filled my personal tank 5 times. And great person with some great knowledge.
In closing, a big shout out to raffle gal that replaced Rich. She was a very hard working person. Rich was a hard person to follow. I think she did a great job. And for your information she took my credit card and sold me tickets. Hope everyone got the tickets they wanted and won something.
I just want to add, I drive 12 hours to attend this event. I will be back again. I don’t mind the vender food trucks that can’t sell alcohol, and have it on their menu. I appreciate the event coordinators buying us dinner and dessert on Saturday and include the dinner at the banquet Sunday. I thank you for asking all venders to join us and give them their space to share with us.
Thank you Mont
