I hear ya, they have a nice hollowpoint, but they do seem to be harder, not sure how hard though. Let us know your results when you hit game!

I appreciate the help, but 224 is too large for either of my magazines gk1/k1. The k1 likes the VK .223 slugs they measure .2228 and are a snug fit.You'll probably want to try these out in your huben as cast:

I'm also was thinking of trying the AEA because I have a custom 218 sized magazine.

No, I haven't tried any of those nor tried to make any. What else would I need because that cast mold to make slugs?

A melting pot and a ladle. I find the bottom pour pots leak, or tend to clog. Get some pure lead and a stout stick to knock off the sprue. Don't wear synthetic fabric while casting. It will melt or burn if lead splashes on it. Jeans or cotton is fine. Some folks wear gloves, I don't. Casting isn't difficult. Definitely brings down your ammo costs if you can find the right mold that your guns like.

I shot them out of my .22 king and I personally liked them very much. I am running a 700mm barrel and it has been shooting the Altaros .40 grn slugs with laser beam accuracy so I really didn't expect to be blown away but I was very pleasantly surprised. I shot out to 200 yds and I will definitely be buying more.
