Daystate THE DAYSTATE PROGRAMMER-LET'S TALK ABOUT (PROPERLY) PROGRAMMING THE REDWOLF

So initially when many excellent videos were made the following guidance was given, the 3 curves were related, they are NOT, you can have any of the three factory curves outputting anything you like, in whatever sequence you like, i.e. DSP3 can be the highest power and DSP1 the lowest, it doesn't matter, all three can in fact be the same.

Secondly that the pulse length values were always to be changed using the same difference, this is absolutely not the case and if you think about point three above you will understand why, simply put the pulse length at a specific voltage and pressure is NOT linear across the shot string because at a higher pressure the valve can be much more difficult to open, low pressure point and mid pressure point in fact can have quite close pulse length values yet high pressure point may be much longer in order to compensate for pressure, especially at 250 bar.

I hope this is all clear so far, please feel free at this point to question anything that doesn't make sense to you, no matter how stupid it may sound, or in fact correct anything you dont agree with, including your own experiences, I am a sales rep I dont write technical manuals for a living LOL!
Hi Mark remember me would love to have a chat about the RW safari in 25 ,Wayne, remember that daystate barrel change, you helped me out so much, DELTA WOLF, 177 ,HOPEFULLY talk to you soon, ALL the best buddy

In honor of the late @Sparky1Mark I wanted to post my results from using his method and a lot of help from @Davec107 I got my RW .22 Hp tuned very well. I’m shooting unsorted JSB MRD’s 25.39. I am so excited to get these results and see how it does on paper. Thank you both for the help.

Hello! I am working on programming my Redwolf .22 HP with JSB 25.39 as well. I realize each rifle is different, but would you mind sharing the program settings? Your results look really awesome! Just looking for a starting point. Thanks!

I’ll be honest I have not had those setting in a year or two. But you can try these out or a combination of them. My RW is a .25 now and mostly used for speed.

Thanks so much! So were the MP .22 settings giving you the ~970 FPS with the 25.39?

Buy a Heliboard.
This Daystate box way of tuning is crazy and even more expensive.
Heliboard gives you 12 power levels each can be customized to your need as well without any need of external boxes and so on.
And you will get more power too.

My Redwolf was delivered as a good rifle - But with the Heliboard it is a superior rifle.

I have a Heliboard
I need a good tutorial as to programming. And then about 3 weeks to program.
As delivered my RW does really well, I am sure it could be improved but at what (time) cost.
Insight is appreciated

How old is your Heliboard Stephan?
Do you already have a decent speed range from level 1 to level 12?
I mean so level 1 is a good slow speed for garden shooting and that 12 is good for heavy slugs....

hello Claus - the Helliboard is about 18 months old. I installed it, tried about 4 different setting and they all seemed very similar. I did not have the time to play with the settings then and replaced the original G2 board. I needed the rifle as a backup field target set up.

I believe I tried level 5, 8 and 11 and the 13.43 (.177) all shot way too fast. Perhaps it would behoove me to go back, re-install and do a real test and then come back to ask how (if) I can adjust the settings.

If only I could shoot in my basement and not have to travel two and a half hours to my range.....

For chrono work, you only need a bench long enough for the gun, chrony and pellet stop. I use an old ammo can stacked with carpet, cardboard and the electricians putty in the bottom. That is if you have a shoot through chrony. I only need about six feet.

Physically not a problem. The law and possible income in the future is. Until I move from NJ unfortunately this isn’t an option. The pellet trap sounds similar to what others have built and supposedly works to great effect.

I will have to plan a day at the indoor range to work this out, said range is 2 and 1/2 hours away…

Should be close yes. But again everything is going to be slightly different on yours. I would recommend a in line regulator if you don’t already have one to help with tuning.
curious what type / brand inline regulator did you use and was it a difficult install that also required program modification? I shot with a Guy in Boerne TX who had an inline regulator on his RW. Great shooter too!

Hi Stephan,
It sounds like same version as my Heliboard.
When I received my heliboard P1 was shooting JSB 10.34 at 990 fps. and already at P4 The JSB Knockout slugs was shooting way to fast.
You can have the values to enter in the Heliboard from Jack. The preprogrammed Heliboard that Soren Drost received for his RedWolf GP .177 is well graduated over the 12 programs. His Max. power level P12 is good for 20 and 22 gr. Zan slugs and P1 starts so you can shoot 10 gr pellets.
My programs is just custom calibrated to the pellets / slugs that i shoot.
If your Heliboard is one of the newer versions - then it has integrated Auto interpolation so you do not need to test speed at all of the 20 pressure levels.
I can do the same when test shooting with my Heliboard. But i need a computer with Excel to calculate the values in between - and then enter these values in the heliboard manually.

You need like for your 13.43 to test fire and find values for like pressure values: 160, 190, 220 and 250 bar Then you can either via the spreadsheet you received with the heliboard or with your newer heliboard do an auto calculation to fill in the values between these pressures.

I will try to read out the values from Sorens HeliBoard - next time I see him when I have them on paper - I will share the 12 programs values with you...

Best regards
