Those of you who stockpile pellets and slugs, how many thousand rounds do you usually keep around in storage? any concerns and worries of these lead getting oxidation after a few months or a year or so?

I have pellets from 12yrs ago, no oxidation to speak of and they are in carboard boxes. The stuff in tins is good to go as well. 10's of thousands of pellets, competition shooting demands it.

Glad to hear, i've accumulated over 20K of pellets and slugs, just wasn't sure how many of them would oxidized.....

I still have a partial white plastic box of Crosman pellets from the 80’s? They have started to show signs of oxidation. They may be from the 70’s when I had my 760.

I have pellets that are more than 20 years old, been kept in original packages indoors and I don't see any oxidation. Why are they still around? Bought long ago when I was experimenting with everything Beeman sold and for whatever reason these weren't standouts in my guns so I didn't finish shooting them. Your mileage may vary.

I have 20k or so - I shoot a bunch every week but I still may get out the ole FoodSaver just in case!

I've wondered about oxidation as well. I have more pellets than I may be able to shoot in my lifetime and I have more on the way!! BUT... I will do my best
I may look into vacuum sealing some of my tins. Haven't tried this technique yet but I hear that if you put food, pellets, etc in a ziplock bag, you can dip the bag into a bucket of water. Stop just below the ziplock seal. The water will have pushed all the air out of the bag. Once the air is out, seal the bag and pull it out of the water. Free vacuum sealing lolUpvote 0
We wore out two Food savers. Last year I bought an Avid Armor vac sealer. Worth every penny.
Never thought of sealing pellets. Can’t see it sucking the air out of the tin. On the other hand, the Avid will crush a pop can….a tin should be more stout.
