A very interesting air rifle! From this and other videos it appears to be extremely well built which is a huge draw for me. Unfortunately though it is at least 2 pounds heavier for my purposes.

What are your typical uses for your air rifles? We're always looking for feedback! The Evo weighs in at 8.5 lbs and is balanced right on the arca plate. It also has QD sling mounts built into the butt stock and arca rail to be able to carry it easier.

I just did a comparison. My Taipan 2 is 8.8 pounds. It is standard 700mm .25z. That's 5oz heavier than skeleton butt Skout Epoc! Hmmmm?!

What does the dwell actually do? Once you achieve your target velocity, why would you want to raise the dwell from 16? Wouldn't a higher dwell just be wasteful of the Air and also negatively "blow" air after the shot?

AI nonsense video that really is misinformation.
Pellet dwell is the duration the pellet remains in the barrel once movement begins
Valve dwell (which is what is being controlled via configurable settings in the Evo) is the duration your valve remains open.

Hi,
the dwell controls how long our solenoid is in the ”open“ position, which is the what provides low pressure air to the fly oring which opens the valve. the longer the dwell setting, the longer the valve has opening force applied. By tuning this setting you find a point of where it applies this pressure for an ample amount of time to ensure a consistent shot cycle, as well as the optimal dwell time for the valve. A dwell time of say 40 would be wasteful of air. But with our adjustment in millisecond increments you will not see a substantial change in efficiency within the range bill has described.

When i got my Epoch, i went by the recommendations of others and never really tested it out for myself
In the past, i was timid to try out different settings in fear that i could not get back to my original, but this fear has been calmed by the ease of adjusting a Skout rifle..especially if it has digital gauges.
I have normally been running my Epoch with JTS 22.07g pellets, flying @970fps on a 27 dwell. HPR-1500 LPR 190
I am using a highly polished Lothar Walther Bull barrel
With this system, i did well at EBR. scoring in the top 20 for 50yard benchrest.
for the testing, i started with a lower fps of 950-960 and adjusted the dwell setting to 16. Take 5 shots at the bullseye
Move to next target, raise the dwell by 2 and take 5 more shots...Just like Bill described
These were shots1-8, including the sighter on the right side.
On shots 3rd row, sighter-sighter, were shot@970-975 fps
the 4th row, i revisited the settings at 22 and 20 ..target 20 being the best so i kept those settings for row 5....not quite the same as target 20..but good
I went back to the range the next day to try out some more settings.
I wanted to do a row of 5 shots after seeing what happend the day before on the final row
I looked at the previous days results and started with 950fps ..looking for consistency
each row was shot with a different dwell setting-5 shots per target
Pellets were weighed
Will try some more next week
