N/A Weihrauch hw97 or Air Arms TX200

My TX200 came with a stripped but pad screw, got that taken for and is one accurate gun, however I like my HW much more as the TX200 is a difficult loading a pellet without dropping half in the chamber. Bummer! Charles

That's what I like about the prosport, it falls right thru..lol. But I can load the 97 or prosport blind folded.

My problem, if you want to call it that, is a long relationship and favor for Weihrauch's and .20 cals.

I own a TX200 in walnut. All I can say is half the time when I take it out to shoot, I just admire it's beauty.

Only thing the tx200 does better than the 97 is the ease of disassembly.. both are equally accurate.

That's a very insightful observation. I never see a refurbished 97k but abundant of tx200 in PA and AOA, wonder what it indicates? A supply demand issue or qualitywise? I don't know.

When all is said and done, both rifles are very heavy. Great for target shooting, but not so much for general use or hunting. My go to gun for that is either my R7 or HW95(R9). Much lighter and easier to handle plus accuracy just about as good.

I got a TX200 and really hit the wood lottery. Beautiful burl in the buttstock. I also have a HW77 and a 97 that I got with a thumbhole stock, which did not rock my boat. I ended up getting a Custom Stock Tyrolean, and put it on the 77 and then the original 77 stock on the 97. I have an Anschutz diopter on the 77 and that Tyrolean cheekpiece helps align my eye quickly with the sights.

I was in the same situation as you, but I ended up getting the HW97k due to how nice the walnut stock is. I think my next springer will be a 77k

First place today TX, 2nd place TX, first place 6 out last 7 matches, TX. That match was won by a D75. Most of the shooters use 97s. They just seem to be a bit behind..

The World’s Field Target just finished up here in Arizona and out of the 36 Springer shooters 30 shot TX200’s. Now these are not stock guns at all, but it looks like for competition, the TX200 is preferred.

This is a Ford Chevy argument. I went with the TX when I started 2 years ago for the following reasons. For 100.00, yes I want a walnut stock. The record over the years of the TX200 in world competition. The TX does not need a spring compressor to teardown, it's very simple and lots of online videos.
