Dlx pro chrono not reading shots!!!

Hi guys,
Bought this dlx bt version may 2024 from pyramid air.
was working fine just couple of weeks ago and then the temperature dropped and now the dlx wont read shots no matter what i do near far up down shades no shades,
nothing works,
contacted dlx manufacturer,
they say its because the sunlight this time of year stays at certain angle so i may need the lighting kit if i am using the dlx indoor!!!
Which I don't
I only use dlx outdoor,
anyone else facing similar issue when the temp drops outside but still is sunny and the dlx don’t work,
let me know so at least I can feel good about it!!!
the Bluetooth works fine on the chrono.

This was some 20 years ago but I don't think the technology has changed that much and it was with powder burners. Back then it was common knowledge having to use black magic marker on the bullets to get a reading.
Maybe something to try in order to find out if it's optical or something to do with electrics. Good luck!

Look up homemade chronograph lighting and see the cheap easy ideas that you may have stuff around the house to do it quick and see ..

no sun can be on either sensor otherwise error

Maybe have someone hold a flashlight above the crono ? I would say at least 4 feet above and a regular light not the super bright ones.
edit : a q tip to clean the pickups ? just dry no cleaner : no glas cleaner ?

As far as I know, they don't work with Led lights.

The light kit are LEDs thing is chronograph use infrared led

Pro Chrono dlx claims (Patented infra-red LED design eliminates light bulbs)

You go with matched emit/ receive

I use the ProChrono light kit no matter where I'm using the chronograph and don't have any issues. Before that, I had issues lots of the time. Just buy the light kit and you'll be set.

I have never had a problem with mine outdoors, you have a bad unit. I do use the light kit in my garage, but never outside.

I always had problems outside (bright sun, clouds, shade, or under trees) and inside with mine when measuring velocities of .177 and .20 pellets. I didn't have a bad unit, but the ProChrono IR light shields fixed it.

So u saying using that light kit by dlx fixed ur outdoor shot reading ??

I bet if you search woketube " homemade shooting chronograph lighting or sunshade" you'll get a few videos on something you can do and use easy .

Plenty out there to try something and see how it goes

I have placed mine on a GIMBLE mount so it tilts side to side. Doing so allows facing the screens towards the strongest light source ( Sun )
Having the Chrony sideways does not effect its operation ... poor lighting does

Another thing about mine that I forgot to mention, and I doubt this is your problem, just food for thought. If I sit my phone next to the unit, it will miss some shots, I keep it about 4 feet away. I always use mine in the shade, direct sunlight will mess with the reading too.

I also have a Pro Chrono and during the early morning hours sun rising in front of target, mine will not read a shot but when the sun gets higher no issues.....
