Yong Heng leaks?

The most common & successful method of finding leaks on the YH is to use a dead head plug on fill whip, let pressure build substantially then turn off YH while under pressure then use soap spray on every single external fitting & connector, anywhere it could leak. A common place for leaks is the dowty seal (bonded washer) on top of High Pressure cylinder. Usually just needs tightening or replacing that seal which should have come with YH spare parts. DON'T make a habit of stopping under pressure but it's OK in this case.

I get yer drift! But dont you turn it off under pressure when it has reached target pressure? Or Im doin sumthin wrong?

You don't have to get to "target pressure" to check for leaks. THAT should be your 1st step in figuring out what's going on. Just build some back pressure in the system with a dead head & search for leaks.

Leak detector works better than soap. Both Lowes and Home Depot sell it. Rectorseal is the manufacturer. Hint, it works pretty well diluted, one bottle is about adequate for an airgun club. Very thin liquid that bubbles like crazy even when heavily diluted. The leak detector is benign I've not had it damage anything. Good stuff!

Both black-knob pressure release valves on my YH are opened before start and stop, except dead-head pressure test when I stop under pressure to check for leaks. Starting under pressure can lead to catastrophic damage, stopping, not so much, but best to release pressure before stopping, as well. Don't use set pressure function on my YH, monitor gun gauge till desired pressure, open pressure-release valves, run few seconds after air has vented, turn off compressor. WM
