Sheridan Am I now an honorary American?

Hello all! We had to go to Bordeaux today for a hospital appointment, something that usually fills me with dread! But this time, I had a repaired gun to return to a gun shop down that way.

An excuse to check out the stockroom full of unwanted wrecks!

First I found a Diana 56 that needs repair, I said I’d do that as they are easy to work on. Then I spotted a pumper!

I thought it was a Benjamin a392 as I didn’t have my reading glasses, and it looked like brand new so it can’t be an old one.
Then I got it home………

Please can you take a look at this video and give me a rough idea of age? We never saw many over here, but this does appear to be an 80’s gun in brand new condition Any help most welcome

Pump Up The Jam! With the Sheridan Blue Streak. Is this an 80's sleeper? please help

As you would say, “nice bit of kit”. Congrats
I’m sure someone will be along shortly to give you the low down.

We all grew up with a version of that.
Here’s a pistol, and my old Benjy

Excellent!
The Sheridan's have been in production a while.
I have a 1955, a 1965, a 1972 without serial numbers that I purchased new, and a 1972 Silverstreak, with serial numbers that I call the Dumpster Queen, restoration project.

I have a link here somewhere that I will find for you that will answer the history of Sheridan proction.
I enjoy your videos BTW.
👍

Wanted one of those back then also. I showed the parents the blue streak and silver streak in the cabela's catalog and it was a hard no on the .20 or .22 because of the price. They couldn't see the logic of BB guns back then, probably still don't. I was lucky to live on a farm where I had the freedom to go out back with a .22 rimfire, shotgun or bow whenever I wanted during hunting season. When Marlin .22 rimfire semi autos were only $89 at the true value if you caught it on sale, double the price for a BB gun was considered insane.

I bought the Anniversary Crosman 362 for myself last christmas, in the spirit of the one they wouldn't let me have back then. I have enjoyed getting to shoot it inside the house again since the days are getting shorter the last few weeks.

Sheridan were the originators of the .20/5mm caliber. When they started production of the Supergrade back in 1947? they didn’t like the quality of the available pellets in .177 and .22 so they made their own.

Robert Beeman was a big fan of the .20 and promoted it in the rifles that he sold, but it never really caught on in America either. I’ve always found it odd that it’s not bigger in the UK, since it’s really well suited to 12 fpe.

74!? I’m not doubting you at all, but the condition makes that a little hard to believe. In a good way of course!

8 pumps just gave me 640fps, so I guess it’s as good inside as out
Check this 1965 that I got from a pawn shop in North Carolina.
